So depending on your definition of 'western'. If you're talking western Europe then the majority of parties are left/right coalitions (Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland) with the exceptions being us and the Czechs on the right and France, Germany and Ireland on the left.

If we broaden it out to include the Nordics then you can add Norway to the right and the rest of the Vikings (Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Finland) to the left.

If we are looking at the developed west then we will would need to include the US on the right and Canada on the left.

If the definition of the West is to also incorporate the anglosphere then we need to add the Australisian nations in there which again is one apiece with Australia being right and the kiwis being left.

So a total from that lot would be 5 on the right. 14 on the left and 5 left/right coalitions.


Not that this has anything to do with Cultural marxism mind you. I'd look into Derrida and Fouceau if you want to brush up on that whole can of worms.

Police have been attacked by demonstrators in central London, where thousands gathered despite warnings to avoid protests.

Groups including some far-right activists congregated in the capital, claiming they were protecting statues from anti-racism activists.

Boris Johnson said "racist thuggery has no place on our streets" after officers were seen being punched and kicked.

Some peaceful anti-racism protests also took place in London and across the UK.

The Met Police had placed restrictions on several groups intending to protest, including having to finish at 17:00 BST, following violent scenes last weekend.

However, pockets of protesters remained on the streets of central London after the official cut-off.
More than 100 people were arrested during the protests in the capital, Scotland Yard said, for offences including violent disorder, assault on police and possession of an offensive weapon.

Six police officers also suffered minor injuries in the violent clashes, a Met Police statement added.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted: "Racist thuggery has no place on our streets. Anyone attacking the police will be met with full force of the law.

"These marches and protests have been subverted by violence and breach current guidelines. Racism has no part in the UK and we must work together to make that a reality."

A man who was part of the protest was pictured in Parliament Square urinating next to the memorial of PC Keith Palmer - the police officer killed in the Westminster terror attack in 2017.

Home Secretary Priti Patel said the "desecration" of the memorial was "utterly shameful".

If you are inferring these are Nazi salutes (as the twitter thread you have linked to is) then you are just stirring up racial tensions further without justification which is foolish and dangerous path to tread.

They are clearly chanting En ger land and raising their hands as part of the chant exactly the same as we do when we chant bluebirds.

If that's not your intention and it is pointing out confrontation with police then it is a different conversation.

I'm coming to the conclusion we need to arm the police. May make people in these situations think twice before they attack them with little immediate reaction. In addition we have a major issue with knife and gun crime in some communities . In London the police are losing control of the streets in some areas.

said on another thread protesting is a right, for all causes.. but having said that and having seen what had happened in the USA our government should have shut that down immediately last week using covid as an excuse and banned and enforced the ban of mass gatherings until covid rules allowed them again... most of this was avoidable...

There are many on the board who don't just defend it, they celebrate it. But at least some Welsh football supporters have enhanced their reputation today. Wrexham have played a blinder. The "Cardiff Lads" who stood with English clubs are wankers and they don't do it in my name. I would honestly rather stand with the Wrexham boys, which is why the togetherness of following Wales is these days is stronger than following City.

Thank you , but yes that comment got to me and hurts as I have strong beliefs regarding Britain and the wars and I belief in our history and I fully support All our soldiers and leaders from those times as they fought and stood up for our country.
