Thousands attend illegal raves in north-west England
A 20-year-old man has died from a suspected drug overdose following an illegal rave in Droylsden, north-west England, which was attended by around 4,000 people on Saturday night, Greater Manchester Police has said.

A separate gathering on the same night in nearby Carrington was believed to have been attended by around 2,000 people, police said.

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Sykes said the raves were "clearly a breach of coronavirus legislation" and "had tragic consequences".

At the Carrington rave a number of serious incidents took place, including three reported stabbings and the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman, police said.

In England, gatherings of more than six people are not currently allowed under lockdown rules - however there have also been reports of large illegal raves in other areas of the country, including London.

Seems they're literally 'Raving Loonies'...!

Our inability of our people to act responsibly whether its the beaches, the raves, the protests - both sides and the ignoring of the lockdown from day one in some cases is the main reason why we cant get on top of this. Its great that our deaths are falling but our infection levels remain stubbornly high. Most other European countries are in the low hundreds or tens, we're still well over a thousand. We could do most things if we religious on social distancing but It will come back if we don't control it.

Why didn't the police intervene? Should have confiscated the music equipment, no music,no rave!

My niece showed me videos of the bay and cold knap today,the bay was absolutely heaving,and the knapps car park was all but full,it seems people have given up on covid,believing if they haven't had it,they won't! There is another lockdown coming imho,those of us who have done as expected,are going to be made to suffer further,due to the confusion of the government,and the easing of rules at different paces.
