Match to be played in front of no supporters, for information on how to watch the match on TV or to stream it - see below

CARDIFF CITY :bluebird:

First up is the matter of Robert Glatzel's fitness?

"He’s unlikely for Saturday. Protocol hasn’t ruled him out yet. We’re on the 24-hour time monitoring process at the moment.

"We’re in a little bit of a grey area. I’ll know more tomorrow. But he’s not been on the training pitch today."

Albert Adomah has returned to Nottingham Forest.

Winger Josh Murphy is 'very touch and go' for this match with Bristol City.

Greg Cunningham is still a little way off at the moment.

He was back in training with the first team last week, but didn't complete the full week as part of his phased return.

Greg Cunningham and Isaac Vassell are injured, Cunningham is now back in training, but won’t be fit for at least a couple of weeks.

Josh Murphy?

"Josh has done really well. We had a training group late on Tuesday after the game and he was part of that.

"That was really good training for the lads. It’s important that the players get what they need out of their weekly training schedule. He’s available for the weekend."

BRISTOL CITY:

Ashley Williams is suspended for this game.

Ashley Williams out of crunch Bristol City vs Cardiff City Championship play-off showdown

The Wales international is suspended for the Severnside derby match

By Ian Mitchelmore

Thursday 2nd July 2020

Ashley Williams will miss this weekend's crunch Championship fixture between Bristol City and Cardiff City due to suspension.

The centre-back was shown a straight red card after appearing to kick Tiago Silva before shoving Yuri Ribeiro during the Robins' 1-0 defeat to promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Wednesday night.

It means the Welshman will now serve a ban, with the first game of that suspension seeing him miss Bristol City's mouth-watering Severnside derby clash with the Bluebirds at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

Williams is also set to miss his side's Championship matches with Hull City and Middlesbrough, although he will be available to face former club Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on July 18.

"That’s a big slur on the match from our point of view. I didn’t see it even though I was 20 yards from it - that’s not just manager talk - I genuinely didn’t see it," Lee Johnson told BristolLive.

"It sounds like a rush of blood and is disappointing from a senior player - but at the same time I thought we were the better side after that and had a couple of good chances with 10 men."

Ashley Williams could have played his last game for Bristol City after a mindless sending off in the Robins 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest which will earn him a four-match ban for violent conduct.

That will deny the veteran centre-back a chance to take on old foes Cardiff City at Ashton Gate on Saturday and by the time he will be available for selection again - with just two games of the season remaining - may find it hard to unseat Tomas Kalas or Filip Benkovic alongside Nathan Baker.

After a tussle on the ground over a 50/50 challenge, in his haste to get the ball back to take a free-kick, Williams launched his forearm at Yuri Ribeiro right in front of referee Darren Bond, earning a straight red.

No I don’t gamble personally.

I’m hoping Tomlin starts or at least get half a game. I’d like to see Murphy start also but can’t see it.

It’s got a draw written all over this one but hopefully we’ll nick it.

They don't sound very confident on their forum. Some saying they've come to accept a mid-table finish and commenting on how well Neil Harris has done to contrast against another season managed by little Lee Johnson and mediocrity. Its usual for Bristol to capitulate after a decent start where they all love LJ and then tail off and all ask for LJ's head. It's written in the stars that Tomlin scores the winner against them. Bluebirds 2 - Wurzels 1.

Cardiff City well on top though; and that bodes well for the second half when we tend to be better and have players on the bench to push the advantage :thumbright:
