In England Radio 5 reporting this morning that stadium capacity in September will be a maximum of 30%, with 1 meter spacing. You will though be able to sit as a family of up to 4 people.
Every other row occupied with 1 meter spacing all around you.

If a club has a capacity of 30,000 Fans would see 1 in 3 games during a season.

Due to Govt law Cardiff City are being told they can not sell tickets to an event that at this moment in time or in the future dates that fans won’t be able to attend is illegal, so they can not sell tickets saying no refunds at all etc and have been advised to say the following:

The Club commits to reviewing policy at regular junctures over the coming weeks and months. Should government or governing body policy alter the intentions laid out in this statement, the Club will consider alternatives including the option of issuing pro-rata credits against future sales as recently undertaken for the 2019/20 season.

Cardiff City Football Club is pleased to announce that supporters will be able to secure Season Tickets for the 2020/21 season from Wednesday 22nd July at 10am, you can buy next seasons season tickets.

There will be no refunds on games that are not allowed crowds.

CARDIFF CITY FC:

Monday 20th July 2020

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and support during these testing times.

Working to the hypothesis that Cardiff City Stadium will reopen earlier than anticipated with a reduced capacity, priority will be given to Season Ticket Holders at that time.

19,000 Season Ticket Holders renewed for the current season and prices have been frozen for an early bird window for the coming campaign with an adult ticket price starting from only £249 and children’s prices starting at £49. Supporters will be able to use recently awarded Season Ticket credit and CityCash balances against their purchase.

From Wednesday 22nd July at 10am to Wednesday 29th July at 9.59am, we are offering a double CityCash incentive to those who purchase. Supporters purchasing during this window will be entitled to £20 CityCash, with a reserved seat and early bird pricing. This is an online-only offer.

• From Wednesday 29th July at 10am until Tuesday 4th August at 5pm, supporters purchasing will be entitled to £10 CityCash, with a reserved seat and early bird pricing. This is an online and telephone sales offer.

• The above pricing and associated benefits are fixed up until Tuesday 4th August at 5pm. Sales of Season Tickets from 5th August onwards remain under review and are subject to change. Cardiff City FC reserves the right to suspend season ticket sales at any time. Further information on pricing from this time onwards will be released in due course.

A third window of opportunity to earn a CityCash starting balance of £5 will also be available for a limited time after the 4th August; further information on these dates will be released closer to the time. After that announced deadline, no further CityCash starting balances will be awarded for season ticket purchases.

The date that CityCash starting balances will be awarded will also be announced in due course.

VINCE ALM:

Cardiff City Supporters Club

UPDATED:

VINCE ALM:

Current seats, moving seats for next season, can I sit in my seat?

Received quite a few queries in regards to keeping seats and moving seats as above.

These are questions I asked the club last week on behalf of the supporters and supporters club when England announced fans maybe able to return to stadiums with a 30-50% capacity in October / Nov . Unfortunately the football club were not in a position or able to put any information out regards these key questions as they have to date received no guidance from Welsh Government and local authorities on capacity and what social distance measures need to be put in place.

There will be no refunds.

No refund message on Cardiff city website if a fixture is played behind closed doors and you do not want to have a streaming code or use one.

This has angered a lot of supporters since the announcement Monday and we totally sympathise with those feelings. We have received numerous message complaining about it and have taken it up with the football club since Monday for clarification.

We are hoping it is just a poor bit of PR as I am not sure it is legal if you cannot provide something you pay for and not have some sort of reimbursement option. Personally I think they should have at least be rolling over credit as a minimum for future tickets. I have spoken to some of the main people at the club and I am currently waiting for them to get back to me.

Seems a good deal.

A good amount of citycash back (£20) plus most will have a fair whack from this season towards their ticket too which will make it cheaper. Can't see any increase in prices and potentially PL football at the very least more entertaining football!

Without knowing when we'll be in the stadium - they can't sit back and wait a la Dripford - I'll be buying ours on Wednesday and I'm sure there'll be benefits if we're not allowed to attend.

The interesting bit is no refunds for games
if they're behind closed doors only vouchers for city tv even if cannot get it or want it! Seeing as season start date is probably Sept and fans not in until oct likely to be several games behind closed doors. :o

It says we can use the refund amount and city cash balance, so if we still have 20 quid on there for this season can it be used on the season ticket

Tremendous pricing again, lets hope we can get back in the stadium come the autumn.

The problem City have have:

Not guaranteed to watch them in person and no refunds they will struggle , I feel for the club on this but 1,000’s won’t buy in my opinion until they can get inside the stadium and you also can’t blame our fans either .

Re: BREAKING: " 2020/21 SEASON TICKETS ON SALE FROM WEDNESDA

Not sure why they don't sell season tickets on a quarterly basis where people would take a gamble.not sure many will stump up for the whole season not knowing if they can watch at all.

Sell tickets for first 10 games

If they are not allowed in then it is carried over to the next quarter minus anything used for online viewing if you choose that option.

If you are allowed in because you have a lucky seat number which is in the social distancing rules then you pay full price.

Saying buy a ticket but no refunds won't work . Its a lot better to just buy per game on the day as you take no risk .

Re: BREAKING: " 2020/21 SEASON TICKETS ON SALE FROM WEDNESDA

Mon Jul 20, 2020 5:52 pm

During all this crisis our club didnt lay anyone off or furough any staff. The prices of the tickets are well cheap for championship football let alone still the possibility of premier league football.
Canton stand is £279 thats a touch over £12 per game which is £2 more than streaming it. If we are locked out of the home games for 2 months then we are losing out on about £10ish? Add the £20 city cash and the fact that we are financially supporting our club, should we really complain if the government and this pandemic have the clubs hands tied?

I have no problem in paying this regardless, and cant see many supporters arguing different

That sadly applies to me. I’ve been a season ticket holder for most years since 1975 but with my wife retiring and only my income I’m afraid I can’t afford it from now on but no regrets. I’ve had a great run. :ayatollah:

So
Its 15.60 a game for me
If its behind closed doors I can get a live stream
If it's like it is now it's only 10 to stream the games without a season ticket, so I am being penalised for having a season ticket..or are non season ticket holders unable to stream the games.
Nobody knows how long this will go on for..

Re: BREAKING: " 2020/21 SEASON TICKETS ON SALE FROM WEDNESDA

Mon Jul 20, 2020 6:10 pm

Will the live stream option even be available if we go up?

Re: BREAKING: " 2020/21 SEASON TICKETS ON SALE FROM WEDNESDA

Mon Jul 20, 2020 6:19 pm

It seems crazy that you get no refund If we stay in championship my season ticket works out at £32.50 a game Premiership nearer £40 per game Really not worth me getting a season ticket With the government stating we may be let into ground in October and Wales being behind so say here would be November I can see us missing 5/6 games
I would just pay for city tv if it is available
I can see 1000s doing a wait and see because of this and maybe even waiting for the following season to buy a season ticket

How are they going to apply the refund credit from this season ?

I assume when you log onto your account it will be on there!

Re: BREAKING: " 2020/21 SEASON TICKETS ON SALE FROM WEDNESDA

A tad bit silly from the club to predict that fans will return just like that to the stadium. Any club for this matter. Unless there is a fixed date that fans can return to the stadiums safely again maybe in the October period i know the welsh government is saying something different from england in terms of bringing back fans but yeah.

I think clubs should only give out season tickets a month before the actual date on when fans can return on. Because if your going to get a new ticket and all your doing is sitting watching the game from home then they are charging you to sit down in your house. But I guess the club need to bring money in either way otherwise we wont have new signings so yeah.

Doubt it as premier league have different contracts with no club having rights to show games live on their own platforms unlike EFL where you can buy away games and midweek ones on city tv ! Unless live abroad when get get a season pass or game by game home or away on city tv.

Very much a catch 22 for fans and club but club as to try and get some income as we will struggle, but spare thought for other clubs that are in far worse state than we are ? No income for several months maybe can see administrators being busy! ..fans who can afford to will get st now to help club others who are borderline probably wait unless of course we get promoted and be interesting what happens then.. :old:

Trying to work it out

If they are behind closed doors it is the same as now but you only get the voucher for HOME games not away like we have at the moment and no refund. To watch the away fixtures you would have to pay again.

If its reduced capacity you CAN get a refund if your seat is not chosen.

If the ground is at reduced capacity of around 5-10k which is likely to be most of the season . Is it lucky dip or Do they pick every 3rd seat to be able to attend with a empty row in front or behind empty then as the games go along move the seat number up one so everybody gets a go ?
That would mean if that lasted all season you would only see a game every 4 games on average.
If we go up that would mean you would get to see 5 games , average the ticket cost to £350 that's £70 a game .

Also what happens if you Sit in a row with family ? Would it be allowed because its a bubble, that would mess the whole seating plan up.

Its going to be so hard for them to organise . I cant see how they can sell season tickets under these circumstances.

Well done the club for at least trying something not waiting to be told what to do by the assholes in Cardiff bay, never going to please everyone but there you go the club would have got slated whichever way they went but at least they can say that not one person lost their job. :thumbright:

Am I reading this right? So our fans could pay hundreds of pounds for a season ticket but may not actually get to see any games live in the Stadium?

No you are reading it correctly, you could buy a season ticket and not have a refund of all games behind closed doors. I'm kinda stuck as I've had my seat since stadium opened and it's a good seat I don't want to lose but I might have to as don't want to pay all that money to potentially see nothing

The club is in a no win situation

They have to do something but whatever system they come up with unfortunately some fans are not going to be happy.

At least we have the parachute payment which should see us through next season

Some clubs without rich owners are going to fold, hopefully we won’t be one of them. I can see many clubs not being in a position to pay players wages

Re: BREAKING: " 2020/21 SEASON TICKETS ON SALE FROM WEDNESDA

Mon Jul 20, 2020 8:14 pm

The statement saying there will be no refunds for games we are unable to attend is totally unfair. Why not just make a pro rata credit for missed games towards the following years season ticket as they have done this year? Why penalise season ticket holders? The live stream offer is a poor compromise as the value of most games is substantially more than a tenner and a lot of games will be live on sky anyway. If in Premier league then the club wont be able to stream live. I'm may just opt for a half season ticket for the second half. And buy a flexi 6 for the first half.
