UEFA:ALL GAMES NO CROWDS / SEPT/ OCT HOPEFULLY NOV

Fri Jul 24, 2020 9:15 pm

Paul Corky:

UEFA:

WALES FOOTBALL GAMES:

This is a UEFA decision.

Update from our FSE summer congress meeting on Zoom Nations league update ...

All Wales games up to and including September or until further notice will be behind closed doors...

There will be another UEFA meeting where future games will be discussed so hope for October but more likely November...i have booked already for Finland unfortunately but if you haven't booked please don't.. i would also advise against booking october or November's games too...i think if things change we will have short notice of 4 to 6 six weeks.

Crowds then might be let in with a 30% capacity

Not so sure about away fans allocations or if any would be allowed but here is the wording we had
Due to the large number of questions relative to matches being played behind closed doors or not, it is essential to clarify that all UEFA matches will be played behind closed doors until further notice (including the UEFA Nations League)– as per the ExCo decision on July, 9th 2020 and independently of the current lifting of restrictions in this regard by national law.

International football should be suspended until all countries are Covid free .

Is there any point risking dragging loads of people across countries on planes just for a Game of football in a meaningless tournament not many people are interested in ?

Just wait and hope the Euros can go ahead in the summer then deal with everything else once its date to do so

it wouldnt be a bad idea to knock the nations league on the head for domestic league reasons... as for fans ,there are millions of non corona phobes in the air as i type a few thousand football fans aint going to make any difference..

But there are thousands already doing what you say! To get away for a holiday, and if it's so meaningless, surely the numbers going would be relatively small? And if international football should stop until all countries are covid free, why not all football? But it's ok for the euros to be played,in a large number of countries, or are you saying they should be played as is now, with empty stadiums? If we do as you suggest, and wait until all countries are covid free, then international, or for that matter all football clubs could be waiting years for that scenario plays out,if ever! There are clubs in the lower leagues who will go bust, and the championship would not go unscathed either. :old: :bluebird:

and on that note i really dont see stadium bans or reduced capacity lasting long.. planes are full, airports are getting there fast, pubs are open in England and god knows how many large gatherings, { beaches, raves, protests etc } there are every week...

Holidays abroad should not be being allowed either. Im sure people can go without it for a few months and spend this year in the UK helping our economy. There are plenty of beautiful places to visit in the UK.

The only way the world will collectively get back to normal is if we all work together as one, stop foreign travel unless necessary of which international football is not until at least January.

Do we really need to play England in a friendly in 2 months time ?

Everyone is rushing back and its not going to end well. I fully expect us to be in lockdown over Christmas now

Regarding the Euros it should be played out if necessary in one place not over multiple countries.
Find a country or Island that is Covid free and play it there. No fans.

I just dont see the point in doing the Euros over all these countries whilst Covid is still active.

And I especially dont see the point in International friendlies when they are not needed
