A Reading fan has been served with a three-year football banning order after making aeroplane gestures pertaining to Emiliano Sala's death.

Royals supporter Stuart Webb was seen making aeroplane gestures during the Championship clash with the Bluebirds, which caused huge amounts anger among Cardiff fans.

It resulted in stewards making their way over and escorting him down the stairs and ejecting him from Cardiff City Stadium.

The home supporters cheered in delight as the Royals fan was escorted away, then burst into a chorus of Sing a Song for Sala, their tribute to the late striker.

Following Mr Webb's ejection, he was told he had been charged with a public order offence.

The 37-year-old admitted the offence and, on September 1, North and East Devon Magistrates' Court issued the ban, which means he will be unable to enter the Madejski Stadium or its surrounding areas on match days or attend any football match including Reading Football Club.

Mr Webb is also prohibited from visiting Reading town centre on match days three hours before or six hours after kick-off. The same applies to other town centres during match days when Reading play away from home.

PC Christian Evans, from South Wales Police, said: “The overwhelming majority of football fans are well-behaved and respectful to one another.

“Webb’s inflammatory gesture caused a great deal of distress to many people still grieving the death of Emiliano Sala.

“Hopefully this court result sends a clear message that similar behaviour will not be tolerated at matches.

“We work closely with Cardiff City Football Club and colleagues from other police forces to keep troublemakers away."

Correct decision by the court.

Abhorrent behavior from him.

After his stadium ban expires, it would be advisable for him to stay away from Reading matches - I'm sure plenty will recognise him. Certainly when they play Cardiff he would be best advised to stay away.

Did City fans sign about anything? Or were they singing?

The atmosphere at that game was a bit edgy given that a week earlier in the FA Cup game, 4 of ours were arrested for that alleged racist chanting.

Football is now a fully inclusive sport and that includes ensuring all banter is made available to audibly impaired fans as well as anyone.

Although, some clubs have been accused of hi-jacking this movement for their own agendas.

These clubs only sign when their winning.

I'll get me coat.

Probably would have gotten away with it if he wasn't dressed in white the absolute wank stain

A nice tasty ban for him.

I remember the entire Block A Grandstand and Grangend singing Instanbull to Leeds fans at a League game at Ninian Park, the Leeds fans were not happy and tried to rush the no man's land between grangend
