The new big stick being used to justify the deprivation of the freedoms so many people fought and died in two world wars for.

Firstly it was the amount of people in hospital suffering with the virus - no longer relevant apparently.

Then it was the amount of patients on ventilators - no longer relevant apparently.

Then it was the number of deaths - so negligible now that they are no longer relevant.

Next it was the mythical "R" rate. What's happened to that recently? Seems like it's no longer relevant.

Now it's the rate of infections per 100,000 people in a locality.

Once that falls I suppose they'll have to come up with something else.

According to Wales Online there were 150 new infections the day before yesterday in Wales and 165 new infections yesterday meaning a "worrying" increase (in a population of 3.5m :?).

But if you take into account that the 150 infections came from 7171 tests on Tuesday (2.09% positive tests) and the 165 infections came from 9607 tests (1.71% positive tests) then in fact the rate of new infections is FALLING not increasing so why are the WAG so desperate to threaten further lockdowns and restrictions?

See how statistics can be manipulated? So despite a fall in real terms the headline news is the "increase" in new infections from 150 to 165.

It is getting scary now. Not the virus - that will always be with us and it's no real threat to 99.99% of the population but the way we are being manipulated by those "in charge" of our lives.

Good post. Many who called it from the beginning were laughed at as the majority blindly followed our government who are manipulating stats to pass laws to take away our human rights and impose more control.

Got to agree, great post by davids, but the lack of replies shows how people are not interested,in anything other than what they are being fed daily by msm,did as asked 1st time around, mainly to protect my mother, who is high risk, but have np been watching and reading on a daily basis, and come to the same conclusion regards population control, some are waking up,but not enough imho.
If BLM and the likes are allowed to protest, then why aren't we? Also Muslim women march (video link was on here somewhere) were allowed to do so,it's about time we stood up to this shit, before the b@stars remove all our freedoms and rights. :old: :bluebird:

OH! Please, conspiracy rules supreme. Please save our freedom what wars were fought for to preserve it.
This Covid19 is a hoax perpetuated to control the masses :banghead: If it was not so serious it would be laughable. Some one posts and talks about doing what the government says, more likely follow the pied piper. To much time on peoples hands. It seems to me that common sense has gone out of the window. Please try and think for yourself. To believe that it is all a big conspiracy by a government, is absolutely ridiculous. People that have it in their head that it is all about taking away our freedoms are living in cloud cuckoo land. But you believe what you want to believe and I will use all my life experience to decide what is real and what is not, I have seen to many people die, to not believe that Covid19 is not a real threat. I just hope when the Winter and the new year comes, that you will not be proved wrong!

and you genuinely think A } the 80% of that million who wrer over 75 and had serious illness already had long happy active lives ahead of them and their relatives are shocked that 88 year old Gran put in a nursing home or having carers 3 times a day has passed ? that is even assuming they actually died of covid which the government knocking off 5377 deaths more than suggests they did not. .thats not a conspiracy its the truth..as are the figures from the Italian ISS who claim only 12% actually died of covid and the report last week in America.9k covid deaths... ignore/ cant be bothered to look but call people who can be bothered to look ..loony ikes.. :? :?
B } the restrictions are not having a significant effect on non covid deaths ?
the 70k empty hospital beds for months that would normally be full were full of people not ill ? and had zero effect and caused no one to die . ? hmmmm
people have not died through not seeking medical help as they were scared ?
suicides are not up ?
and millions, literally millions of missed appointments and treatments none of which will cause death as people wont die and did not need them ? there was a doctor on the radio yesterday saying his mothers cancer diagnosis came 3 moths too late to treat... maybe he thinks its for the best ?..maybe your family or mine would in similar circumstances ? doubt it..
maybe your experiences are different to mine but later im meeting the sister of someone i was close to growing up who committed suicide yesterday morning ..maybe i should tell her it s for the greater good because there are selfish im ok jack people out there who dont want to be any more terrified than they already are....
btw im yet to meet anyone who has lost a relative that agrees with the covid on death certificate...and there have been a few.. the first was in march, and i said it then and have continued to as i heard of more.. personally if we had half the country infected, our hospitals full and needed those field hospitals. .if this was as contagious or deadly as the 1968 hong kong flu or even if the bereaved were not saying how old/ill their dead relative was but that it had been a shock...... id get it...instead we have people saying the numbers are going up there were 30 dead yesterday ? 30 out of 1700 that died of all causes in the uk...TWO PERCENT ? and oh the cases { cases being positive tests, NOT all ill people , infact the vast majority are not ill } are going up but we are literally testing 40 people for every 1 tested back in April and numbers are still way down from then...David Ike who i think is a few sandwiches short of a picnic sounds like Einstein compared to i cant be bothered to think....

The fact the lockdown has been eased and we are only having infections of such little amount a day speaks volumes. Yet when the lockdown was in place and people were told to stay indoors the numbers were in the thousands. How is that possible if people are not able to pass it on to others. I’ve had a gutsful of all this COVID now, and I’m glad the minority are slowly becoming the majority in realising that we must carry on with our lives.

put this link on another thread..its not a long or complicated read.... its from April and shows if nothing else that everyone was aware of the non covid avoidable deaths would be in 6 figures... and its on going yet they have a chunk of the population now thinking double digit deaths of covid are more frightening ...

Yesterdays figures show a decrease in new infections in Wales of over a third, down from 165 the previous day to 102.

Drakeford's reaction? Following Boris and Sturgeon in imposing tougher restrictions and making face masks compulsory in all shops.

Might as well all just stay safe in our houses for the rest of our lives and forget work, socialising, ever seeing friends or family again except over a video link.

Wrong
The latest figures published on Thursday show that there have been 19.5 infections for every 100,000 people in the last week in Wales - a significant rise on the low point of just 3.7 in mid August.

According to figures released from NHS Wales, 72 people with suspected and confirmed Covid-19 have been admitted to hospitals in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board area between September 1 and September 8.

NO mention fact everyone is panicking to get
tested so cases will rise? As this virus is going be with us for months ... seems rather pointless unlocking things then 4wks later lock down again as cases have risen..... because every time you allow people to mix cases will rise .... at some point got to go pass that point otherwise country will grind to a halt with people to scared to leave house to work kids to school ect ect, and if wait until vaccine is available sometime never is a long time to wait...

Cases are slightly on the rise in the last week. But how can the tables below suggest that a lockdown works? As since we’ve come out of lockdown the numbers have never got anywhere near numbers during lockdown. And you can’t give the two weeks case as the lockdown was a lot longer yet the number were high for a few weeks.

ive gone out this morning, spoken to 5 people and not one understands what the f@@@ is going on... its not even as if he is saying, look its temporary and we are putting these measures in place until the infection rate drops to { put a figure on it }... its random knee jerk decisions one after another... truth is deaths and serious cases are down a lot since we eased lockdown..so..they move the goal posts to re introduce some measures...how often are they going to do this ? and at what point do measures get lifted... bit of clarity would help because at the moment it feels like we are in an ever decreasing circle... where what would be seen as low today is not deemed low in a months time.. its really not fair on thousands of people this has scared the hell out of..the minute life begins to have a little normality here come the scarecrows again..

its only a couple of days since we were told the major source of infections was in the home...?
lockdown ? there is no consensus that they did work or did not work..
but over 90% of those that died did die during the full lockdown... and if you add this to point 1 about in the home and its correct... no they did not work...

btw.the lockdown announcement was the 23rd of March...note the steep climbs.. every country that locked down followed =the same pattern..

So it was 165 new infections on Tuesday and 102 new infections on Wednesday and that's an increase?

I knew I should have listened a bit better at maths in school though I suppose I should be grateful I was actually able to go to school when I was younger.

Perhaps I should have been clearer and said that there was a fall in the number of daily infections from 165 on Tuesday to 102 on Wednesday - am I still wrong on that?

PHW had an error in reporting yesterday, expect a higher number today.

I've said it on here before but giving a public platform for conspiracy theorists and covid deniers is dangerous. Please take your information from reliable sources.

Which part of my post was wrong?
Was the fact that there were a third less infections on Wednesday than there were on Tuesday wrong?

This bit "Yesterdays figures show a decrease in new infections in Wales"
They have gone up not down!

Yes you should have said Tuesday, instead of a post today saying yesterday (Thursday). I really am sorry I am not clairvoyant :laughing6:

No need to apologise.

You're obviously not a clairvoyant.

More a pedant.

PHW had an error in reporting yesterday, expect a higher number today.

I've said it on here before but giving a public platform for conspiracy theorists and covid deniers is dangerous. Please take your information from reliable sources.

Latest from PHW

165 cases reported on Wednesday

102 on Thursday (they said the data was "incomplete" on Thursday so that should be discounted)

130 reported today.

So even ignoring yesterdays cock up by PHW Wales the daily rate is today lower than on Wednesday.

Being reported by Wales ONline as "another rise in positive cases across Wales".

Again - how is 130 more than 165?
