Judge Sebastian Prentis made a winding-up order during a hearing in the Insolvency and Companies Court after being told £190,000 was owed in tax.

Annis going to see more clubs losing winding up orders as clubs got no income to bargain with! 500k is not alot but with no means of paying anything off theres only one outcome.

Sad to see a club in trouble owing less than Premier players earn in a month.

Your right Allan and we might even see bigger clubs than Macclesfield.

Efl say if no help by xmas for efl clubs some would go out buisness... southend had winding up order put off for two weeks! Plan for 25/30% capacity could be delayed to November after review going on at moment... but even with that capacity efl clubs still need bailout or clubs will go out buisness say efl.

no doubt clubs are struggling..
but in this case it was on going from before covid.. Macclesfield had a points deduction in October for not paying their players... a game cancelled in December as the players went on strike over not being paid and were eventually relegated after a second points deduction...

Is this not just a microcosm of modern society ? The super rich just get richer and the poor struggle to survive. You want to support Man U or Barca or use facebook, buy from Amazon or use apple products then you are encouraging that trend.

Every corner shop, community pub or football club that close only gives the big corporations or billionaires even more influence over our lives.

The money buys you almost total influence, so nothing is going to change. There is absolutely no appetite for any of footballs many governing bodies to do anything, because as soon as you have enough power to do something, you join the gravy train and enjoy the luxuries that life in the fast lane can bestow on you.

Taking even 5% or 10% off the Premier League sides would have a positive effect; but we shouldn't hold our breaths that they would see the bigger picture going forward :(

Yes judge said had ample time to sort out .....but as I've also put efl also say clubs cannot survive on limited capacity without help from somewhere otherwise more clubs will go by xmas

There seems to be no end to this relentless covid panic which is currently killing very few very elderly people who have underlying health conditions most of whom would die soon anyway. There will be a price to pay for this. For football clubs it will mean most clubs in league one and two will be bankrupt by the end of this season. I expect league one and two will be amalgamated next season and there will be just three divisions.National league clubs may survive by going semi professional or even amateur for a while.

im not sure... short term { covid related } i agree with Dalman , the EPL have the funds to stabalise all the EFL clubs with out putting a huge dent in their coffers.. longer term . the more clubs get the more the players want , the more clubs want as transfer fees and not much changes.. Leeds lost £36 million over 2 years getting promoted and have admitted had they not gone up would have to cut back and sell.. now if the EPL had given each championship club lets say £5 mill a year extra for those 2 years would Leeds losses be £10 million less or would they just have spent it.. my guess is the later as it would be for every championship club..i dont know the answer but it all seems a bit unsustainable .

Maybe because the elderly with underlying health condition are abiding to the social distances but to say they will die anyway make no difference

Epl had opportunity to do something last deal with efl but instead efl sold clubs short according to clubs.... and epl screwed efl clubs over young talent and put in place a future clause that will come into effect couple years down line that is depremental to efl clubs as well... wont hold breath on epl helping to any degree.

of course it makes a difference... the government are playing god... sacrificing people who if treated could have years of good quality life . in many cases for terminally ill with multiple illness who often have almost no quality of life and short life expectancy..{ not that i want it drawn out if im ever needing nappy changes and dont know up from down } , if there was zero cost fair enough... but there is, in lives, in health and in our future well being and services like the NHS...
