LATEST UPDATES " TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY TOPIC "

Postby worcester_ccfc » Thu Oct 15, 2020 6:40 pm

The transfer window slams shut at 5pm on Friday.

After this point, Cardiff City will not be able to sign anybody.

Premier League clubs can only trade with clubs in the EFL and below, transfers between Premier League clubs are not allowed.

Neil Harris has said he wants to bring in at least two more players with Charlie Austin, Cauley Woodrow and Dion Sanderson all linked to the club.

Harris also said that it is very likely that a couple more players will leave.

Elsewhere, several players are being linked with transfers.

Harry Wilson has been linked with a loan move to either Derby or Swansea.

Swansea are interested in Bristol City player Kasey Palmer if they do not manage to sign Wilson.

Josh King has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs.

Said Benrahma is set to sign for West Ham.

David Brooks is wanted by a few Premier League clubs.

Troy Deeney coukd get a move back to the Premier League.

Swansea's defender Joe Rodon is heavily linked with a move to Spurs.

Will try and keep this page updated with the big Deadline Day transfers.

Clubs can sign 'free agents' after the deadline day but cannot play them until the next transfer window, if I recall correctly?

I think you're right Chris, because I'm sure Championship clubs now have to register their squads until January by 5pm today.

Chris, I don’t understand the mentality in signing a player now and paying his wages but can’t play him until January, that’s ludicrous

Not necessarily.

It will give the player time to train with the team and get an understanding with them. It would also get them fit to a stage where they just need a couple of games to get match fit.

If you bring them in in January it will probably take them a month to get to that stage.

Disappointed if we don’t land Woodrow after all the publicity on this. Maybe we will?

If we sign these 3 players mentioned it must mean club are going for top 2!
As doing nothing would surely mean mid table considering the good teams in championship now ....

Woodrow signs new contract at Barnsley, so he is off the table. Sounds like we pulled out after securing Wilson on loan.
