Derby manager Phillip Cocu:

“We’ve got our first home point and you have to take a positive from that and hopefully it can kick start our season.”

"We kept the energy in the team until the 70th minute and then we struggled a little more to come out.

"But still we had a few spells where we got in good positions. You know Cardiff don't concede a lot, you have to kill the game if you have the opportunity.

"After the goal we played well, we felt good. We had the opportunities to score and we didn't do it.

"You have to believe you can score the second goal so you kill Cardiff. It was not a big mistake (for the equaliser) but details are important."
