FOREST LOSE GROSICKI APPEAL

30/10/20

Nottingham Forest have lost their appeal to complete the loan signing of West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki.

A deal was agreed for Forest to sign the winger on Deadline Day 2, but there has been a dispute over paperwork. The EFL have now ruled that it was not submitted on time and Grosicki will not be joining the Championship club.

An EFL statement read: "An Independent Appeal Panel has dismissed a challenge by Nottingham Forest in respect of the decision made by the EFL to reject an application for the on-loan transfer of Kamil Grosicki from West Bromwich Albion.

"The EFL advised Nottingham Forest that the Club had not submitted the relevant documents in relation to Grosicki’s on-loan transfer prior to the transfer window closing at 5pm on Friday 16 October 2020.

"Nottingham Forest requested that the decision of the Executive be reviewed by the EFL Board. Having considered submissions from the Club, the Board agreed to confirm the original decision.

"In accordance with EFL Regulations, the Club opted to refer the matter to an Independent Arbitration Panel who upheld the Board’s decision."

So it seems ALL the correct paperwork DOES have to be in place for a player to join a club 'officially'? ;)

yes the TRANSFER has to be completed within the transfer window..think youll find had it arrived 30 seconds earlier Forest would be stuck with him.. whether registered to play in certain competitions or not...which has happened many times before...
