City's gate receipts stolen

Looking through a book documenting City between 1971-1993 and came across this.

They found it on a mountain somewhere up the valleys

It was our record receipts at the time i believe. The club just left it in the safe overnight. Didn't help that most of it wasn't our money as QPR were entitled to a third and the FA a third! Think it was found on Caerphilly mountain

Locked in the safe and the keys left a drawer in the desk in the same room apparently.
Some of the money later found on a mountain above the Pontypridd area. Definitely an inside job,, and I recall that there were some convictions as a result of the investigations.
