What players would you be happy with leaving in the summer?

Personally if we want promotion I’d have no problem with them leaving...

Bacuna just not consistent enough and not good enough imo

Murphy again way to inconsistent 1 year left on his contract he won’t sign a new contract I think he can’t wait to get out of here... be lucky if someone comes in for him if we can recoup any of the money we should.

Pack for me again isn’t good enough he’s mid table championship team at best

Hoilett out of contract been a good servant but think it’s time to move on

I think Phillips is now our new number one or will be next season so smithies I think would want to move on one of the biggest earners at the club

Mark Harris isn’t good enough

Out of brown flint Nelson and Morrison they are all similar as in poor distribution but Morrison overall is a better cb which shows recently we need a cb whose good at passing and doesn’t hoof everything. I think brown might be moved on might be offered a 1 year deal

Jonny Williams shouldn’t get a new contract imo

Obviously all these players won’t leave as not all clubs will bid for the contracted players but we have a lot of average players who aren’t good enough I hope McCarthy is given some funds next season so we can have a good go for promotion

Also, Bamba, Hoilett Tomlin, Brown, agree Glatzel but retain Pack and Ralls. Discard Ojo and Whyte as well.

We need a strong ball playing centre half, a quality striker, 2 central midfielders and 3 new wingers. At fullback/wingback we can hopefully choose from Tutu, NG, Bennet, Sang and Bagan with Sang possibly in midfield.
My starting 11 next season is:

Smithies or Phillips
NG - quality new centre half - Morrison - Flint - Bagan
quality New winger - quality new Central Midfielder - Vaulks - quality new winger
Quality New Striker to assist and backup Moore
Moore

Subs Smithies or Phillips, Pack, Sang, Tutu, Nelson, quality 3rd new winger, quality second new central midfielder, Bennett (when fit), Watters, not forgetting Colwill when needed.

This side would reach playoffs minimum.

All I want to see is for us to move away from this long, hit and hope hoofball that we play. So not too fussed who leaves if it means we play better football.

Looking at our current squad 18 players have contracts which run out this year or next year. So MM has a massive rebuilding job on his hands.

Lee Tomlin cost us £millions and will never do a full season, absolutely a waste of time and money .

Bacuna , Brown, Holiett,Whyte,Ralls can all be released ...
Would have Glatziel back and keep Murphy...
Unless we get a really creative midfielder, keep Tomlin on pay as you play deal

Unfortunately there would be a lot of contracts to honour so I dont know how many players we would actually be able to afford to get rid of but I do agree a clean slate is needed.

Granted, there is less than there has been over the last few years but how many seasons in a row have we said "We need to clear the dead wood"? In my opinion we need total fresh slate to really go forward. Similar to how Malky started his squad (very few first team players were here when he came in if I remember?)

However, if we had a magic wand I wouldnt be put out if we moved on;

Brown
Whyte (Unless we tried him at wing back)
Pack
Ralls
Hoilett
Vassell
Glatzel
Harris
Tomlin
Williams
Bamba (honestly there is no malice in this but I cant see him being first team or even first choice back up next season)

Ojo , Wilson & Osei-Tutu will be gone as well

That puts us at -14 players to start the summer window with an already apparently small squad :laughing6:

Next season:

——-- Smithies
—Flint-Mozza-Brown*
NG Vaulks Ralls Sang
————Colwill
——-Moore-Watters*

I’d be happy to promote Colwill when Wilson goes. This is a chance to have a Norwich like Model. They’ve sold SO many young players in recent years. Breed them don’t buy them.
I’d like a striker and as said by many a ball playing CB, Manga or Loovens style. Add one nippy wing back from somewhere. Decent side. Don’t overspend. Use the youth.

If we can get money for Smithies, Ralls, Murphy, - take it.

Many people saying get rid of Pack and the general consensus seems to be that we need a ball playing centre back.

Personally, I’d get rid of the energetic Vaulks before Pack, who just happens to be the best passer of a ball (including forward thinking, contrary to popular belief) and continue to employ centre backs with strong key attributes relevant to the position such as heading, aggression and an ability to tackle. If I was to add one, a bit more pace wouldn’t go amiss, but I’m not overly fussed if we play simple passes out of defence as a transition up the pitch.

Rather than get rid of Pack, here’s an idea. Maybe get some more midfielders who want to play football around him and watch fortunes rise! :bluebird:

Joe Bennett is another player who I hope signs a new deal as he os technically gifted, gets stuck in and provides a great mentor for Bagan.

Given the fact he never plays, it’s hard to put a case forward to keep Junior Hoilett and I could see the financial justification in getting rid of the high earning Smithies if the opportunity arose.

Smithies for financial reasons as he’s a big earner and Phillips is a good keeper. Tomlin as I don’t believe he and mick will see eye to eye and his fitness is a huge problem. Also glatzel even though he’s a decent player he is neither a target man or a pacey runner in behind so can’t see how he fits.
