Probably would have been offside

A weak 'handball' penalty shout for the Bluebirds is rightly waved away by the referee...

Doesn't look like the referee is going to be fooled by anyone today

A few players have gone down under challenges and not had a foul awarded

Flint makes a couple of good blocks to deny Ejaria

Meite then flicked towards goal but it was a simple save for Smithies

Reading picking uo the pace a little and penning the Bluebirds back

Some good defending from the Bluebird defence though...

As half-time approaches, City are pressing hard. Two consequetuve corners are cleverly defended by Reading and a push on Flint is denied as a penalty to the Bluebirds

Not sure how it's a 'poor' game and the Bluebirds have had their opportunities without converting

Reading also had their chances without really amounting to much and it's all nicely set up for an interesting second half

After a strong start, Cardiff have faded.

That said, Reading haven't caused us many problems either.

Decent first half from us. Watching this makes me think that the way we play we just need some more depth in a couple of positions as we seem to tire in the second half. Ng doesn’t offer as much going forward in the left as he always takes a touch inside onto his stronger foot. Next year with Bennet back or Bagan or a new fella will really help us in this system. Decent so far for me

Vaulks and Ralls working hard to close down in midfield. No doubt they will tire later in the game. :bluebird:

Lots of effort in that half from us. We will need to keep that up as Reading do look like they have the skill to catch us out.

Agree with this.

Ejaria has already shown a glimpse of his quality. Need to keep him quiet.

I wouldn’t say it’s been a poor first half. I think we’ve edged it.

We’ve defended well, closed down and won back possession well and kept possession well at times.

Of course where it matters - creativity - we’ve been virtually devoid.
