Where do you see the potential of the club, are you excited?

MICK McCARTHY:

"Absolutely I am, of course. If we end up finishing seventh and I say that’s a good finish from where we were. It certainly is in terms of if we get three points on Saturday.

That’s the benchmark in terms of points. If we were looking at 46 in 23 games, we have set a benchmark - can we do that? That’s hard, that.

Things will be changing here, that’s for sure. Players will be going, players will be coming in. But we have always got to aim as high as we can.

"We might have no money, but we can certainly bring a few older heads in to get us going next season.

We aim for the moon and end up in the stars."

How have you got on behind the scenes with hierarchy?

MICK McCARTHY:

Excellent. Absolutely no problem. I’ve had no interference. I speak with Vincent occasionally. Generally it’s just encouragement.

The staff have been brilliant. I’ve been delighted with everyone. I’ve been very impressed.

Hopefully we can continue the success we have had this season and bring it back next season.

I've not met Vincent Tan yet, had a few phone calls from.

MICK McCARTHY:

Cardiff parachute payments ending, summer of cost cutting likely awaiting?

It’ll be a different summer with no parachute payments.

I’m cool with whatever I’ve got, no money, so long as I know. That’s not been decided yet.

No parachute payments make a great difference.

Players out of contract, there is a big batch next summer?

I’m not going to worry about the following season just yet. I’ll concern myself with this one.

It’ll just be different.

Having been in the Premier League and having parachute payments, it enables the club to be on a different playing field to some of the others.

It’ll be a level playing field now.

"Aim for the moon and end up in the stars".

Neil Harris left his pathetic non inspirational leadership platitudes book behind?

How about non soundbite talk?

Things like...

Johnny Williams was a mistake.

Lee Tomlin is a lazy lard @rse

There's no money this time

I know I said I'm bringing the youngsters through, but I don't like changing my favourites.

A 2 year contract even took me by surprise...
