Preston North End have confirmed Frankie McAvoy as their new permanent manager.
McAvoy, the club's former manager, took charge on an interim basis, in March and oversaw a run that included four successive wins to end the 2020/21 season.
Paul Gallagher will call time on his playing career to assist McAvoy and current coach Steve Thompson.
