HERE IS A LIST OF ALL PLAYERS CARDIFF CITY HAVE SO FAR BEEN LINKED WITH :bluebird:

Manager Mick McCarthy has been told straight, there is NO money unless you sell first, but free agents and loan players City could be interested in.

Cardiff City transfers: Every player linked as Bluebirds look to raid Liverpool again and strikers still on radar

Tuesday 8th June 2021

Here's the full lowdown on every player to be linked with Cardiff City this summer

Uche Ikpeazu of Wycombe Wanderers is one of the latest names to have emerged as a target for Cardiff City this summer
It promises to be a busy summer window for Cardiff City.

Having already brought Luton Town striker James Collins on board, the Bluebirds are likely to be eyeing up several more reinforcements before the new campaign begins.

Here's the full lowdown on every player linked so far.

Neco Williams

Has been linked with both Cardiff and arch rivals Swansea City this summer. While traditionally a right-back, Williams has shown an ability to play on the left flank for Wales, which means he would certainly tick a big box for Mick McCarthy, who is keen to fill the void left by Joe Bennett. He is also adept in the wing-back role, too.

Uche Ikpeazu

The Wycombe Wanderers forward also ticks a lot of boxes. A strong and powerful presence in the final third, he's arguably the sort of target man that's well suited to Mick McCarthy's style of football. It's understood the Bluebirds have already taken a look at the 26-year old, who's believed to have a release clause of around £500,000. However, as of yet there's not indication that City have made a formal concrete bid.

Freddie Ladapo

Another player Cardiff are understood to have taken a look at, the Rotherham striker has also reportedly attracted attention from Derby County and Middlesbrough in this window. While there's been interest from the Bluebirds, again, there's nothing to suggest they've firmed it up with a concrete approach at this stage.

Kyle Lafferty

Cardiff are one of several clubs to have reportedly taken an interest in the veteran forward, who's a free agent this summer after seeing out his current contract at Kilmarnock. It's not yet clear just how strong Cardiff's interest is in the Northern Irishman, who's also been linked with West Bromwich Albion, Middlesbrough, Derby, Birmingham, Ipswich and Wigan.

Jonson Clarke-Harris

The Peterborough striker was arguably one of the EFL's top performers last season, having netted 33 goals for his side on the way to promotion to the Championship. His exploits have seen him linked with a number of sides, including Rangers and CSKA Moscow. It seems unlikely that he will be in Cardiff's price range, certainly while Kieffer Moore is still in situ.

Harry Wilson

An unlikely one, but Cardiff haven't totally given up hope on landing the the Liverpool winger. A permanent deal is, at this stage, believed to be Liverpool's preference should Wilson depart this summer. Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman says the club would be keen on taking the Wales international back to the capital this summer, but given Liverpool are expected to demand around £15m for his signature, a deal seems unlikely at this stage.

Dion Charles

It's understood the Accrington striker is likely to be on the move this summer, with Cardiff, Derby, Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield all credited with an interest in this window. There are already doubts over whether City will have the financial muscle to compete in any potential bidding war.

Liam Delap

The highly-rated forward, son of Stoke City player Rory, has reportedly caught the attention of a number of Championship clubs, including Cardiff. Having recently won the Premier League 2's Player of the Season award, Delap's stock has risen ever higher. However, our colleagues at the Manchester Evening News have claimed that Man City have not yet made a decision on the 18-year old's future.

Carlo Mendes Gomes

Another target who has also been linked with rivals Swansea, the winger signed off a hugely impressive season by netting the winning penalty for Morecambe against Newport County in the League Two play-off final. As with Clarke-Harris, he's been linked with a number of clubs, and that level of interest means he might not come cheap.

Ryan Wintle

The defensive midfielder seemingly plunged his future at League One side Crewe Alexandra into doubt after rejecting the opportunity to sign an extension to his current deal, which expires this summer. Alex are subsequently believed to be resigned to losing the 23-year-old. Cardiff have been mentioned as a possible suitor, but the strength of their interest is not yet clear

Callum Elder

A left-back is certainly high on the wish list for Cardiff in light of Bennett's departure and, after an impressive season for League One champions Hull City, he has seemingly emerged as a possible option for McCarthy. However, reports suggest Cardiff could have competition for the defender, with Derby, Preston and Huddersfield also linked.

Martyn Waghorn

Cardiff are one of several clubs to be credited with an interest in the 31-year old, who's out of contract this summer. However, our sister title Derbyshire Live has now claimed that the Rams are locked in talks with the forward over a new deal.

Ronan Curtis

Cardiff are understood to be one of several Championship sides weighing up a move for the Irishman, along with Blackburn, Derby and Reading. As such, he's strongly tipped to leave current club Portsmouth and is high on City's list of targets.

Jordan Rhodes

Was a target towards the end of the January window, but a deal could not be reached. Recently re-signed for former club Huddersfield Town.

Josh Windass

Seems to be linked nearly every window with Cardiff, but it's understood the Bluebirds, while keen on a playmaker, have not made any approach for the Sheffield Wednesday star.

Adam Reach

Cardiff did initially identify Reach as a player who could bolster their options on the left flank. However, after making contact, a deal could not be reached. Doesn't appear to be on City's radar, despite leaving Sheffield Wednesday following the expiration of his deal in South Yorkshire.

Gone are the days where we have been linked to players in the £millions

To be honest though, I don't actually mind this approach. Up and coming players from the lower leagues, something to prove, the big fish from their respective teams.

Yes we've had some bad choices - Taiwo, Comminges, Revell etc - but we've also found some gems!
Mendez laing, Etheridge, Ng to name a few in the past 3 years
