Crewe Alexandra's Ryan Wintle is someone who Cardiff are said to be still very keen on.

Football insider

Tuesday 15th June 2021

Wintle rejected a new contract offer from Crewe, so is a free agent, the problem for Cardiff is Crewe have increased their offer to Wintle.

Cardiff have a very tight budget next season and each year its been lowered, but this is the lowest its been for ten years, so McCarthy knows he can sign free agents but they also need to be with in his low budget.

McCarthy is scouring the lower leagues to find a some bargain players.

Good god it all sounds so depressing mcarthy scrapping the barrel in the lower leagues with nothing to offer any potential target
The board if they want to encourage fans to come back on mass are failing misrably with the constant mantra of its going to get worse before it gets better how about a bit of hope and enthusiasm.

How can you say we are scraping the barrel?

If he can play like Ng who we also signed from Crewe he will be a decent player.

You could be right with this Annis, tick tock tick tock

There will be plenty of clubs offering a lot less money than they would of a couple of seasons ago. In the championship only the clubs just relegated from the premier will have a bit of money to spare. This guy sounds like a good player. He was both their fans and their players player of the season and is only 24. If you sign the right players getting the best players from league one and two clubs can be a good tactic.
