Ex-Cardiff City keeper on the move to Man Utd

Former Cardiff City goalkeeper Tom Heaton's move to Manchester United is imminent, according to reports.

Heaton became well-loved at Cardiff City Stadium during two spells at the club, the first on loan before a permanent stay between 2010-12.

He went on to Bristol City, Burnley and, of course, most recently Aston Villa, as well as representing England three times.

But, following his release from Villa this summer, it looks as though he will return to where it all started for him at Manchester United, the club who picked him up from Wrexham's academy when he was just a kid.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed Heaton, 35, will undergo a medical at the Old Trafford club this week, with all the relevant paperwork signed and sealed.

He goes on to state that the formal announcement will not be made until July.
