He has some work to do to convince Mick McCarthy he is worth a place in this season's squad never mind team

Whisper it quietly, but it remains that the ideal scenrio for Mick McCarthy would be for another club to take him off our hands and free up the considerable amounts of money we continue to donate to him each week as things stand

Some Bluebird supporters live in an Utopian world, where Tomlin will finally turn uo and put a full shift in but history (not just at the CCS) shows that to be an unlikely scnario and our astute manager knows that

Has he ever defended him? I don't recall anything but criticism; yet other injured players have seemingly had that support (Vassell included)

Seems it's all about attitude and professionalism...

even on a free transfer its very very difficult to see anyone taking on his wages ....so the hope has to be that he realises without a half decent season he will find it extremely difficult to get any sort of anywhere come next June....

Of course, but the irony for me is the numbers on here (we had a vote) who wanted him gone at any cut but are now changing their stance...

Their prerogative, of course, but Tomlin is too long in the tooth now and has 'played' a few clubs now. He has shown little or no commitment to this or any other club he has played for and at no little expense for those clubs either...

Our club's fault for giving him a new contract off the back of half a dozen decent performances after Neil Warnock effectively banished him but was forced to bring him back but it seems we have finally learned

i think the initial 1.5 mill with an added 1.5 in add ons { not sure how much of the add ons BC actually recieved } was a decent gamble for someone who if you can get him playing is a real class act.... but agree the 2 year extension after being left down for 2 years was poor... its a real shame as the boy has the ability to have been a club legend

He wasn’t looking skinny in fitness tests and missed two simple chances in the game against Bath! Let’s hope he can get back to his best like he did for Neil Harris!

Sadly, the real Lee Tomlin has turned up more than the contract gatherer....

Mick is no fool he'll know what Tomlin is about both in talent and attitude, to play he has to deliver both attributes, without that he damages the squad togetherness.

Looked trim v Cambridge. Back to around the size he was when he was in the team under Harris.
