Sean Morrison?

He hasn’t trained today. He wouldn’t have trained anyway.

He is a bit sore, but we will see how he is. Let’s hope he is OK.

McCarthy

Any other injury worries from this week?

"No. We are doing OK actually, we’re all right.

If I had a list I’d have brought it with me.

A few bumps and bruises but nothing to keep anyone out.

Mick McCarthy expected Lee Tomlin in training this week, he hasn't been in yet but hopes he will be back training tomorrow.

No real news on Tomlin, Vassell is closer to a full comeback."

The Opposition's Manager - Nigel Pearson

Nigel Pearson is best known for his time as Leicester manager, when he got them promoted and the following season kept them in the Premier League.

He was replaced after that by Claudio Ranieri, and the team went on to win the Premier League.

He has also had jobs at Derby, Watford and OH Leuven in Belgium since leaving Leicester.

He took charge at Bristol City in February.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Andreas Weimann has been at Bristol City for a while now and continues to be their main threat.

He struggled for games last season, but the season before he scored nine goals in a struggling team. He already has two league goals this season.

Chris Martin is likely to spearhead their attack, he also has two goals this season.

Previous Meeting

We won 2-0 at Bristol City in February, with Kieffer Moore and Curtis Nelson scoring the goals.

Cardiff City v Bristol City this Saturday 12:30pm

Bristol sold their full allocation 2,453 travelling fans and asked for another 500 but were turned down.

The Worzels have had poor results lately.

Hopefully Cardiff will get 25,000 finally and it’s a Saturday and a local Derby and not on tv :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

And we are doing well on the pitch and undefeated in the Championship :thumbright: :bluebird: and only only 3 league defeats in our last 26 Championship games :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

And it’s pay on the day and it’s easy to buy tickets :thumbright: :bluebird: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

4.30 am kick off for me, not sure I'll make after last years early games all being drab affairs.

What's the latest team news?

Lee Tomlin won't be involved despite being close to a return to training, could be a few more weeks.

The Bluebirds are sweating on the fitness of Sean Morrison after the captain was withdrawn during the Carabao Cup loss to Brighton.

Mark McGuinness and Ciaron Brown could feature in the matchday squad, depending on Morrison's situation.

As for the visitors, they will be without midfielders Callum O'Dowda and Joe Williams.

See this being a sting in the tail for us and can see their midfield being too dynamic for us with massengo in there… he can get past players with ease and that doesn’t bode well for ralls and pack. Could do with ralls stepping up today and impacting the game. Going for 2-1 loss.

Lovely start from Cardiff.

Pack sweeps the ball out to Bagan, who lofts in a dangerous cross, but it's cleared.

It falls awkwardly to Pack but he strikes a left-footed volley. It's over the bar, though.

Matty James rags Moore to the floor to concede a soft free-kick.

Ralls will take, about 40 yards from goal and on the angle. The big lads trot up...

Towards Flint, who latches on to it, but it's promptly cleared.

Sang does excellently to stop a cross and quell a Bristol attack.

Cardiff break and are on the front foot again.

Wow, what a cross from Ryan Giles.

Smashed across the face of goal, just a whisker away from Kieffer Moore's head.

The ball is recycled and Ralls is found centrally, 25 yards out, but he bends his effort wide.

Huge chance!

Moore flicks the ball over the centre backs and Giles is clean through on goal, but Baker does enough to get back and deny him a clean strike of the ball.

It bounces off Giles, really, and Bentley makes a reaction save.

Cardiff City launch a barrage of crosses into the box but Rob Atkinson, almost single-handedly, keeps them at bay.

Big pressure on the visitors.

1nil Bristol

Sloppy goal to concede. A nothing ball over the top falls to Weimann, but Phillips' indecision to come out and snuff out the danger allows the forward a shot on goal.

He slots past the City keeper, a good finish, and it's 1-0.

Have to say a slick move from Bridtol sees them cut inside and shoit past the keeper...

Because I was able to see something coming because I know my football… or because I didn’t blindly predict 5-0 Cardiff?

Giles, Cardiff's most threatening player, hits the bylie again and smacks a cross, but it's headed out for a corner.

"Off the line!

The corner falls to into the danger zone before it's turned back into the box by Flint, and then Morrison.

Moore drills a shot across goal and Andy King makes a goal-line clearance!"
