25/08/21

Cardiff City play-off hero Andy Campbell has been appointed as head coach of Middlesbrough Women FC.

Campbell began his career at Boro before moving to the Welsh capital, where he scored the most important goal of the club's recent history in the 2003 Wembley final against QPR.

Campbell well on to manager Norton & Stockton Ancients as well as West Auckland Town before becoming a PE teacher at Dormanstown Primary Academy in Redcar, near his home in Middlesbrough.

Now, though, he is back in the dugout and has revealed his delight at the new post.

"Really excited for this opportunity," Campbell tweeted following the announcement.
