CURTIS NELSON:

International break provides a point of clarity?

If we get that win it gives us a good points tally.

Taking the 11 points puts us about that two-points-a-game average every team is looking for.

Gives us a chance then to rest and recuperate.

Nelson

Impressed with form?

It’s been good. We’ve taken 8 points from 4 games and we are looking to build on that on Saturday.

If we can get 11 from 5 it will be a good return with the international break coming up.

A lot to do with the delivery?

It’s both.

He attacks the ball so well. He is like 6ft 7in and the balls that have been coming in have been brilliant.

It puts him in a great position to come over the top of people and smash the ball in.

Nelson

Those goalscorers at the back?

They are brilliant, aren’t they? Flinty is on fire!

Four goals, top of the league. It’s frightening!

The balls in have been brilliant.

But Flint’s goalscoring record has been brilliant elsewhere, I’m glad it’s coming to fruition this season.

Derby game this weekend, this used to be huge this one…

Yeah, I’ve played in a couple now.

One in my first season here when fans were here. I scored in the lockdown game here.

It’s going to be great to have fans back in on Saturday.

Nelson

You’re left on the halfway line…

I’m happy to take a clean sheet over a goal!

Long throws and stuff I’ll be back, but at corners I’ll cause havoc!

Noticed difference with fans?

Yeah, you can’t hear anything!

Playing the last 18 months without fans you can hear a pin drop sometimes.

Having fans behind you is a lot better. When we have the fans behind us they drag the ball into the goal with how loud they can be.

Joel Bagan thriving?

Definitely.

Joel is a really good player, that’s not something I wouldn’t tell him.

He has come back in from his injury and he has a great career ahead of him.

Does he listen to you?

If I was him I wouldn't listen to me - he is a much better player than I was at that age!

There’s a lot of experience around him to give him that guidance.

What is the aim this season?

Exactly what the skipper said, top two.

I don’t think anyone would start the season not striving to be going up in the top two, you’d be in the wrong sport if you thought otherwise.

West Brom and Fulham have had good starts, to be expected I guess, but I wouldn’t rule us out from being in that pack.

Transfer window, unsettling for the squad?

I don’t know. It’s a difficult one for me to comment on.

It would be unprofessional for me to comment on other people’s situations.

But it happens all the time in football.

Flint playing against his old team, might be harder for him?

Everyone knows about him!

If the ball is right and it has been hung up there, defenders are not in the right decision, he is hard to defend against.

He’s always around the goal, he leaves you with a lot to do!

It’s brilliant to have! He has that instinct, that hunger.

The ball is a big of a magnet to him. As long as he puts the ball in the net I don’t mind.
