He's holding out to see if Keiffer is sold and he can slot in at the CCS...

If Keiffer stays and I hope he does, Ronaldo to Man City it is; and even at his age that's a good acquisition

You heard it first here...! ;) :laughing6:

Quite a few journalists in Portugal and Italy are saying it's done.

Sky still saying that Juventus want around €25m for him, but City don't want to pay a fee.

Sounds like it will go through somehow, because Juventus can't afford his wages anymore and he doesn't want to be there.

True that he doesn't fit into Man City's usual way of signing players but now that Kane is definitely staying at Spurs, they still need a striker.

Be shocked if Man Utd didn't want him to be honest.

For any club to have the chance to sign him for a fee as small as that, they should want him - if they can afford his wages.

Forget his age, because he's still as good as he was five years ago. Just wasn't the right sort of player for Italian football, but he's been in the Premier League before.

Personally, I'd love to see him back in the Premier League whether it's for City or United.

Now sounding like it will be done over the next hours.

Manchester City will offer Juventus €30m, which will be accepted. Personal terms not an issue with a contract already agreed between Manchester City and Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes.

I'm sure the usual complainers would appear saying he's too old for us, we need more youth.

They'll find something else quickly enough... :(

Thankfully, it looks like Keiffer is staying put, so CR7 no longer required and he's off to ManUre rather than Citeh...

Not a massive surprise there but it has caught a few journos out and fair do's to ManUre, although I don't think he will be anywhere near the player they remember

He's obviously not the player he was, but let's not forget his highest standard was way above anyone else's - apart from perhaps Messi.

He is still one of the best players in the world and it's a huge coup for Manchester United to bring him back. Let's not forget that, despite never being suited to the Italian game due to how defensive it is, he was the top scorer there over the last two years. He also scored a good amount of goals at Euro 2020 this summer.

With the young players they have to provide, he will score plenty of goals. I can imagine they'll play with Rashford and Sancho either side of him and they'll give him a lot of opportunities.

Also, as Wez said, he is as physically fit now as he's ever been - even at 36. He believes and his personal doctors believe that he can continue to perform at the highest level for a least another four years.

Make no mistake, this signing has instantly turned them into title contenders. To sign Ronaldo, Sancho and Varane in one window is very impressive.

But another key aspect of this signing is the PR between their ownership and the supporters.

Everyone has seen how fragile the relationship has been between the two, and it's been getting worse and worse. It boiled over a couple of times last season and I think it would have got very messy if Ronaldo had gone to Man City.

The move has also seen their share price have a significant increase, which matters a lot to these people.

This signing will keep the pressure off their owners for a while, because they've brought in three world class players this summer.

But there will be huge pressure now on Ole to win a major trophy this season, he can't say he hasn't got the players anymore.

Huge season for him and Manchester United. Their fans will expect to challenge for the title for the first time since they won it in Sir Alex Ferguson's last season in 2013.

Says a lot that Sir Alex was a key person in getting this deal done, he still seems to be pulling the strings at that club.
