" Racism in Hungary again tonight "

Thu Sep 02, 2021 9:24 pm

Shocking racism again in Hungary tonight during their game against England.

Raheem Sterling having cups thrown at him as well as monkey chants being directed at Sterling and Jude Bellingham.

England players, Declan Rice and Jack Grealish, had the perfect response by pretending to drink from those cups.

After racism in Hungary during the matches that were there at Euro 2020, UEFA punished them by making them play three home games behind closed doors. But they said this would not be implemented for the World Cup qualifiers as this sell under FIFA jurisdiction, and instead would happen in the next UEFA event - which will be in 2022.

Nations like Hungary will continue to do this because UEFA and FIFA don't give them an appropriate punishment or a worthwhile fine.

They'll probably give them a tiny fine. Might as well say "keep on throwing those cups lads".

Did anybody else have cups thrown at them?

Yes at both corners of ground where the ultras were ........ but what got me was ssn just banged on & on & on for around 5mins about how they saw 4 individuals shouting abuse at sterling and Bellingham.. but in case of sterling he was stupid he went over to their fans and shows slogan on tshirt innocent enough but why go to the area where he knew he get abused for taunting them after he scored .... ssn was going to ask England players were they aware of abuse even though they had said England players couldn't hear it (except 2 players mentioned) because was so loud in stadium ..... undoubtedly there will be sanctions against Hungary again!

These ex Eastern Block countries are still living in the pass. It will take another generation for them to wake up.

Meanwhile its best we just ignore these racist mongrels. They will soon get bored and realise people are not interested in their actions. Of course extremism needs to be dealt with and made examples of but the big question is what is extremism.

Firstly, Sterling should be able to go anywhere in that stadium and not have abuse thrown at him and secondly, if people are going to throw abuse at him why does it have to be racial?

Nothing about that makes Sterling stupid.

When is someone going to have the guts to point out that there has been a surge in racist abuse since the black lives matter organisation stuck its nose into football?

Maybe if we started with getting rid of that awful divisive knee gesture and took the BLM politics out of football and return the fight against racism to the kick it out campaign we might start seeing a reversal in this behaviour.

In the meantime if Sterling and other black players want to make their own personal stand against racism then instead of inciting crowds with slogans maybe they should go out and play so brilliantly that they thrash the opposition teams

So if a Swansea player went over to canton stand and goaded city fans hes not stupid or asking for a reaction? And if hes black he is very likely to be abused aswell for his stupidity... thats basically what sterling did it's not right but what did he expect chears and a standing ovation for scoring in an away ground? If you saw pictures after game you'd see those fans were ultras and extremely excited and vocal just like in game.... And having
previously been charged for racism
it was excellent idea for sterling
to stoke up the crowd..... "NOT RIGHT" but what did he expect

Agreed, I have said from the start that the knee is counter productive to their stated aim of tackling racism.

So it's Sterling's fault for celebrating and the English FA for taking the knee ?
Come on lads, stop it ! Just stop trying to deny that racism exists and that some people want to change this.
How many times do the English FA have to say this is not about the political group BLM, are you just not prepared to accept that ?
I can understand that people think it's not for them, I don't like it, I'd prefer a different approach but to say it's the reason that Hungarian Ultras are racist or worse racists is just so wrong.
As a previous poster says, Sterling should be able to celebrate as he wishes, at the end he scored at. That's normal. Are you suggesting that England should have kept the score down as not to upset the Hungarian fans. And also, if they dish it out as hard men then why should they be so upset if it comes back.
At the end of the day if those idiot, black T shirt wearing hard men gang of sad Ultras weren't racist or homophobic we wouldn't be having this conversation.
They ARE racist, they DID make Monkey noises. it happened, so why are you trying to justify it ?
It's wrong.

What do you expect people to think when the taking of the knee is associated with the political movement BLM.

The English FA can shout as much as they like but the taking of the knee will always be associated with the political BLM movement. What we have here is an organisation, the English FA, that have screwed up but are toooooo stubborn to admit it.

Of course they would get and should expect to get abuse. However it should never be racist however much they goad a crowd (who by the way are pretty good at goading players all of the time).

What you seem to be suggesting is because Sterling is black and the crowd are known racists, he should stay well away? They can’t be right on any level. Would it have been ok if Kane had done it?

I’ll admit I haven’t seen what he did, apart from show a slogan on a t-shirt with a tribute to a friend on it who die this week?

if Kane had done it he would get dogs abuse too just not racist abuse .....but is being abused and hurt over the shape of your head or your low IQ easier to take and less hurtful though ? maybe best to avoid where possible

A very intelligent post and a very accurate summary of what's happening. There are so many on here who try to deny that these events are linked to racism and others who try and blame these events on taking the knee and BLM, whereas, in reality, these former eastern block countries have been pulling these evil stunts since well before BLM was in the news and well before the knee.
Thank you for the post.

It doesn't matter how many times the English FA say that performing the BLM political salute has nothing do with their politics (which BTW is complete nonsense of course) only the most naïve would believe that propaganda.

The only reason the English FA won't stop this divisive gesture is because they lack backbone and want to look woke.

No-one has tried to justify racism that is a completely made up fact by you. Presumably we are all racist because we don't agree with your view point and should all be cancelled.

There needs to be a proper grown up conversation about this problem. I think a good and prudent start would be to put a stop to the divisive gesture of taking the knee which is at best ambiguous as it can mean a lot more than a simple anti-racist message.

I have always thought that if racism exists in football then the kick it out campaign is a far better way of tackling it.

With you on that.

For them to post that, is at best misguided. They've obviously been taken in by the tabloids suggesting that all of Hungary is racist.

You can't accuse an entire nation, religion or state of being racist or extremist.

It's a bit like accusing all Muslims of being terrorists, it's just not a fair or true comment to make.

Waiting for the UEFA investigation.

Hungary fined £7,450 for racist abuse.
England fined £15,560 for their players goal celebrations.

Funny because it’s probably true.
