Wales play their third World Cup qualifier today at 2pm (UK time) as they travel to play Belarus.

The match will be played in Kazan, which Rob Page has stated he is not happy with.

Wales have had a lot of selection problems with a number of players unavailable due to injury, Covid and visa issues.

Cardiff City have two players in the squad. Rubin Colwill and Mark Harris are both involved but Kieffer Moore had to withdraw.

In our opening two group games, we have picked up three points.

We began with a defeat away at Belgium, before beating Czech Republic in our second group game at Cardiff City Stadium.

Belarus have three points from three games so far. They beat Estonia at home but lost away to Belgium and Czech Republic.

Estonia have also played three games and lost to each of Belarus, Belgium and Czech Republic.

Belgium and Czech Republic have each played four games. Belgium lead the way with ten points, with Czech Republic on seven points. Belgium and Czech Republic drew with each other in Prague.

There are just five teams in our group, with the first placed team qualifying for the World Cup in 2022 and the second placed team entering the play-offs - where three of twelve teams will also qualify.

We are practically guaranteed a place in the play-offs, due to our performance in the Nations League.

After this game, we will still have five qualifying games to go.

We play Estonia at home on Wednesday.

We have a double header of away games in October, against Czech Republic and Estonia.

We will complete our group campaign in November, when we play Belarus and Belgium both at home.

It says something when we have around 10 players missing and we are still competitive.

Perfect start for us.

Gareth Bale is brought down by the Belarus goalkeeper, who gets booked, and Bale scores the penalty.

1-0 up in the 5th minute.

Is it me or should we be pushing more to get the goals that will make difference at end of qualifying considering Belgium put the goals past Estonia... we just seem content in playing around pitch with no intent on getting another goal. :old:

Belarus level from the penalty spot.

Gunter with a high foot, can't have any complaints really. He's gets booked.

Lisakovich scores the penalty in the 29th minute to make it 1-1.

Gunter. That was ridiculous! Just get your head on it. Silly penalty to give away.

Not surprised 1-1 pitch is dreadful no movement with ball you allow any team time to get into game like they have 2-1 to them :banghead:

2-1 Belarus.

Pavel Sedko slots in from close range after poor defending in the 31st minute.

Very poor we've simply stopped playing just content to be in possession ... they are not that good but we've allowed them space to build momentum? Theses two games are must win if we want to be top of our group

We appear to be playing Cowill as a centre forwad not sure if he is suited at all to the role. Not seen much of him of course but being good in the air and holding the ball up don't appear to be his strengths. Game passing him by at the moment but he's not the only one.

4..... 2-1 halftime

Could honestly be 4-1 to them..

I said before these games that if Page doesn't win these two games, then it just proves he's not up to the job permanently. Which I still don't think he is anyway.

Can't keep blaming the selection problems, these players are good enough to beat Belarus and Estonia.

A lot of work to do in the second half.

Morrell division 1 player still is and always will be page has' nt a clue been a manager because you played for wales should not be the reason to get the job

Last 15mins we were passing it around the defence on the halfway line and James was unmarked out wide. He’s one who can really make a difference if you can get it to him quick enough. Disappointing so far

They are more than capable of beating them ... they're situation is worse than ours...... why just pass around pitch when you've gotten early lead especially when pitch is totally unsuitable for a passing game very poor tactics after goal..

Rubin Colwill and Brennan Johnson much more involved in the second half, and it's making a big difference.

Gareth Bale picked up an injury following a bad connection with the pitch, but he looks like he can carry on.

Mark Harris has replaced Rubin Colwill.

Colwill was just getting into the game.

Just dont look like scoring no penetration upfront and to slow getting ball into penalty area

Hopefully I'll be proved wrong, but Brennan Johnson and Rubin Colwill have been two of our better players in the the second half - especially Johnson, who is a goal threat.

No idea what made Page replace both of them this early.

Wales equalise in the 69th minute, with the third penalty of the game.

Ben Davies was pushed over by Max Ebong.

Gareth Bale get his second goal of the game with his second penalty.

Johnson was our most dangerous player on the pitch and was making things happen.
