It is disappointing but not a surprise.

With some of the U23 players now progressing to the senior squad it means some of the better U18 players are called up to the U23's... in turn the U18's is more like the U16's. And the gap between a 15 or 16 year old and a 18 year old can be significant.

The U18’s never had a good season last season.
I know what you mean but most clubs are doing this and Wigan are a league below and lost At Ipswich recently, but 7-1 that’s a hell of a thrashing.

As to the Under 23’s going in to main squad many of them are 20, 21 and even 22 yrs old and should of made it in the last couple of years.

7-1 I am still in shock as. all we hear of Glen Willians and Dalman. How great they all are.

Hopefully they now go and take it out on the next couple of clubs we play :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Yeah I get your point, let's hope they acclimatise quickly. 7-1 is a hell of a thrashing. I have been on the end of a few of those in my time from the welsh leagues. Not nice. You have to quickly forget it.
