How difficult is it to get over Wednesday night?

MARLON PACK:

"I don’t think we’ve got a choice. The turnaround is quick so today will be our only training practice to prepare for Bournemouth. You can use it to fuel you but we’re disappointed. Luckily, it’s a quick turnaround and our focus turns to Bournemouth, which will be a tough game.

"Scott Parker’s hit the ground running at Bournemouth. They’re a really good team. Really athletic. One of the sides you think would be up there. We want to put Wednesday’s wrongs right, but it’s going to be a tough game for us."

Young players in - how are they doing?

"It’s brilliant for them. It's only really since the gaffer has come in where there’s been injuries and the current climate in terms of where the club’s at in the transfer market as most clubs are, there's no money to spend. So, it’s a great time to be a young player at Cardiff CIty. The gaffer will give you the opportunity.

"The boys with us, deserve to be with us. The likes of Kieron Evans has been in the group for a long time now. They're very good players. Speaking as one of the more experienced players, it’s down to us to give them the platform for them to go and perform. Like Wednesday night, putting an arm around them. Rubin will probably learn more from Wednesday night than Sunday.

"They’re all brilliant lads, with an eagersness to learn and get their head down. That's why they're in the position they're in. The future is bright. And as an experienced player, it’s up to us to help them to go and perform consistently on a daily basis. Credit to them, they’ve got the ability to go and make good careers for themselves."

Said anything to Rubin and Harris? Have you ever been hooked at half-time?

"I have, but more because I think I was going to get sent off.

"It was a good test of their character. In the Championship, you can’t turn up and score two goals and then the next game turn up and score two goals. It doesn't work like that. For Rubin, it'll be a good learning curve for him.

"Rubin undoubtedly has a lot of ability and is one of the best I’ve worked with at his age. He’s level-headed. He will learn from it.

"No doubt it’ll give a bit of steel to their characters."

Difficult to turn around three games in a week?

"The better side won on the night on Wednesday. That’s not making excuses. The turnaround, playing Sunday, Wednesday- Saturday does make it harder.

"The majority of us have played Championship football for most of our career so we’re used to it. Like I mentioned earlier, it was a little wounding to lose in the way we did."

Running more this season?

"In terms of my position, my distances always remain similar, maybe the intensity has increased over the last few years. I just think it’s where football’s going.

"Playing Southampton in pre-season and seeing how athletic they are. We need to look at teams and their strengths, but ultimately we need to look at ourselves."

Been inconsistent in form?

"I think if you win one, lose one and go on that pattern throughout the season, you’d probably be up there. SO it’s a weird one. Sometimes the unbeaten runs, you can get caught up in it. When really you’ve won one and drawn four, when it would be better to lose three and win two.

"It’s getting tighter in the CHamp. Sides at the bottom are catching up and it’s getting more competitive than in previous years. We’re relatively pleased with where we’re at. We need to bounce back on Saturday."

Last year had 2 assists - already beaten that. Any personal goals?

"I stopped doing that as I kept failing! At the start of the season I’ve been getting forward a lot more than I have done in the past due to the formation.

"If they have a player they need me to lock out on then I’ll do my job for the team. I’ve had a couple of chances this year where I’ve been in the box, the ball has fallen to me and I’ve not been able to score."

Sam Bowen?

"He’s been one that from the end of last year to this year has really kicked on. IT’s about unlocking that potential. IN training he’s been brilliant. We do young vs old in training and he’s always their standout player. Bows has been brilliant.

"He needs to play some football and he might get an opportunity. These young lads have a willingness to learn and take advice. They have the right attitude to have a good career."

Saturday if these youngsters get the chance they will need to throw themselves about like if their life depended on it.

They would have heard the boos, the "We are f4%king s$%t and seen the thumbs down signals. As Pack said it needs to be corrected and that is what we will want to see. Time will tell.
