Derby have tough times ahead, we are 2 points off the Play Offs

Your right, Bournemouth are miles better than us but come on mate don't be so dramatic

Miles ahead because like other premier league relegated clubs they've kept and added to squad this league is becoming unbalanced by parachute payments because clubs have got wise and keeping squad together far better to be yo yo club than strip team of best players... plus the premier league clubs are not picking up the wannabe players of the relegated teams a perfect storm.. dont be surprised to see the relegated teams + Bournemouth finish in top 6 so not leaving much room for the minions like us to fight for.. :o

Allan,

We had our chances to strengthen properly and had three years of good parachute payments and we totally failed to take advantage.

We had three years where we had the money and most clubs never.

This we did, but how many managers have pissed it against the wall, giving long healthy contracts, paying way over the odds on players etc,its not alk the fault of the commitee, warnock was given ultimate trust, when decisions were made,as he was the man with so much experience in football, a mistake that has come back to haunt us since he left, madine, glatzel, tomlin et al have, and in tomlins case, are still costing the club big money, and what does the club have in return? 0 on madine, a huge loss on glatzel, and a mil a yr for tomlin.we need a director of football and a younger more hungry manager, before any more costly mistakes.
The last two years now, relegated teams have kept sqyads together, and have added just a few to them,we abd others seem to give out too many loan deals, then when relegation comes, have to replace them, as they dont stay on.thus no real quality signed permanently.

Good post 62er.
I’m hoping that many of / all the big earners will be gone by or at the end of the season and fingers crossed we’ll do what we did after Slade cleared the decks and that’s ‘have another go’.
Until then it’s survival with the added bonus of seeing which of our kids can save us a few Bob when we go again. Here’s hoping. :bluescarf:
