Thoughts on Tony Khan Fulham owner

Sun Sep 19, 2021 9:05 pm

What are people’s thoughts on Tony Khan? Seems like Fulham fans aren’t that arsed on him. Seems a tad unfair that. Have him here in a heartbeat.

Very generous with his Dad’s money and seems a nice guy.

Its Fulham, they have been punching above their weight for years and should be greatful

They are just jealous that Brentford have struck gold.

Agree totally.

Wonder why they chose Fulham?

Tony Khan also owns the Jacksonville Jaguars American Football franchise and had it good for some time before his team started to fall back into the pack

He seems very popular out in Florida but not so on the banks of the Thames, where they feel he could be doing more

I find that pretty incredulous but I guess Fulham 'fans' feel they know best at their own club ina sumilar way that some just constantly see only the negatives of Vincent Tan's tenure at our own club

Wasn't it something to do with wanting a foothold in London with the intention of buying Wembley Stadium to house an American Football franchise, which nearly worked...?

Fulham are a small club and will never get big support like us.

The only club to let away fans in the Premier & Championship have part of the home end as they can’t fill it.

To own anything in London means a lot.

The reason why clubs like Fulham are chosen they are in London, big publicity and status goes with it, plus the area Fulham is in.

Fulham will always be a small team in London with the teams surrounding them So i think they have done really well considering what is around them They have spent many more years in the top division than we have and since 2000 they have spent more time in top division than out of it Including a european final .
Always enjoy my visits to Fulham as it is different to most away games Being in London helps them attract extra money just because of the location

Our support isn’t exactly miles ahead of theirs. On Saturday they had 18,901 (which was a sell out for home tickets) and we had 19,090. Only 189 more at the CCS.

Current average attendance this season is 18,830 for us and 16,346 for Fulham. In the other 5 Championship seasons since we were both relegated in 2014 they had higher attendances in 2 of them.

Cardiff: / Fulham:
21,124 // 18,276
16,463 // 17,566
16,564 // 19,199
20,164 // 19,896
20,738 // 17,752

Yeah huge money. Signed some big names in the wrestling industry and is looking to compete with the colossal WWE.

Yes, but there is a buzz about Fulham because of strong investment and they play attractive football. They look up.

We on the other hand..

That’s a factor yes, but in the year we both got promoted our average attendance was less than 200 more than Fulham’s. And one of the seasons they had a higher attendance than us they finished 20th in the Championship whilst we finished 8th.

Saying our support is superior to Fulham’s and they’ll never be able to match us is just simply wrong.

I think stuff like FA Cup finals is a measure. Plus if we both established ourselves in the premier league who would have better support?

Fulhams home crowds are inflated by big away support which must average at least 2,000.

Away fans are never used to determine crowds at games we have reletative low away crowds attend ccs ..... main attendance is home fans teams like Fulham have far in excess away fans due to allowing above average away supporters in their ground.... same applies to Midlands teams teams in very close proximity compared to clubs in close proximity to us... but this argument never sways peoples view we are a poo supported club

So we’re averaging 2500 more than Fulham this season.
Over 7,000 more in the PL.

Yep, Fulham are much better supported.. this can only mean one thing :P

First of all they are up Premier League way more than us, and teams take 4,000-5,000 fans.

Even when in Championship away support at Fulham is way over 3,000, yet at our place 1,200

Fulham are much much smaller than us on fan base

Absolutely spot on.any club in London can potentially attract massive investment purely based on its location.
