Cardiff's slow starts

City didn't really ever look like scoring on Saturday until the last 20 minutes or so.

For a vast majority of the afternoon, Bournemouth were allowed to dominate in the middle of the park. Few would have been able to complain had they netted another two or three such was the extent of their superiority.

It was a similar story on Wednesday night against Coventry, although the Sky Blues admittedly perhaps didn't create as much in the final third as Scott Parker's side.

Even against a Nottingham Forest side bottom of the league, Cardiff didn't seem to wake up until they were 1-0 down.

In the last three games, Mick McCarthy has turned to his options on the bench in the hope of sparking an impact.

It worked at the City Ground, but the options have not been able to repeat the trick in the following days.
