TEAM NEWS: :bluebird:

Cardiff City will likely be able to welcome Ryan Giles back from the off, which will be a big boost for the Bluebirds.

Giles was fit enough only for the bench on Saturday, having missed the last three matches due to contracting Covid-19, but made an instant impact after coming on.

Joe Ralls could be welcomed back, which would again serve as a boost, however Isaac Vassell and Lee Tomlin are both out still.

Meanwhile, the Baggies will be without defender Dara O'Shea for the trip to Cardiff, with the Irishman considered a long-term absentee.

Matthew Clarke is also expected to be missing for the visitors.

Former Bluebird Kenneth Zohore is in training and will be assessed ahead of the clash.

:bluebird: Team news:

Ryan Giles is available again after having Covid :bluebird:

Joe Ralls is the one that’s missing, that’s it. Everyone else is alright.

The usual other names are still out Lee Tomlin & Isaac Vassell.

Mick McCarthy

Joe Ralls?

He might be around on Tuesday or next Saturday.

Joe Ralls, Isaac Vassell and Lee Tomlin are all still out injured.

Can I stream or watch the match on TV?

The Opposition's Manager - Valerien Ismael

Valerien Ismael made his name in English football last season when he was in charge of Barnsley.

He had previously managed teams such as Wolfsburg and LASK.

Last season at Barnsley, he lead them to an unexpected play-off semi final.

He was appointed as West Brom manager in June, after Sam Allardyce rejected the opportunity to remain at the club following relegation from the Premier League.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Karlan Grant scored two goals against QPR on Friday night and is a serious goal threat.

Last time he was in the Championship was with Huddersfield and he scored 19 league goals in that season.

Previous Meeting

We won 2-1 against West Brom at home in the Championship in January 2020.

Not looking forward to this match at all.
Often in the past, we have come up with the goods in this sort of fixture.
However, I can't see anything other than a West Brom win.
It's difficult to look forward to watching my team feeling this way.

Come on Bluebirds....prove me wrong!

Could be a few boos about tonight i fear i may have to join also is there any cardiff fan happy with where we are at the moment with the squad
Apart from the manager 1 out and out winger in the squad and if giles goes back to wolves i dread to think where moore is going to get any service from.

Match facts

Cardiff are unbeaten in their last six home league games against West Brom (W2 D4) since losing 2-0 in October 1974.

West Brom have won one of their last eight league games against Cardiff (D4 L3), a 4-2 home win under Slaven Bilic in October 2019.

Cardiff City have lost four of their last five Championship matches (W1), one more than they lost in their previous 26 (W12 D11 L3).

West Brom’s Karlan Grant scored their two goals in their 2-1 win over QPR in their last match – Grant had only scored once in his previous 27 league appearances before netting that brace.

Cardiff manager Mick McCarthy hasn’t faced West Brom in the league since February 2012, his last game as Wolves manager, a 5-1 defeat at Molineux.

I bet Mowatt has a blinder. Pity we didn't go for him
But then again we dont seem to bother with skilful midfielders. Far better to stick with Pack, Vaulks and Bacuna. God help us.

Looking around and it looks like a low numbered City support in the stadium tonight...

Srason tickets numbers will count and likely show at 15k+ but the reality is maybe 12k...

WBA support is good and estimate 1200+

GOAL

An early attack sees WBA open up the City defence and the ball smartly shot past keeper Dillon Phillips, who was not at fault

LATEST SCORE: CARDIFF CITY 0 - 1 WBA :(

First WBA attack, going to be a long night at this rate.

Worrying start from Cardiff. Hoofing it away as soon as they get the ball, Baggies attack and repeat. Need to get a foothold quickly here.

Never seen a restart from a goal be passed straight to the goal keeper ...who hoofs it up field .

West Brom break quickly and Callum Robinson receives the ball just outside City's area, but his shot is just blocked by Nelson.

Nelson again cuts out a cross and heads clear. Livermore goes to smack a volley as it drops to him, but pulls it miles wide.

Ciaron Brown with a terrific recovery tackle there to stop Darnell Furlong breaking away.

Re: MATCH THREAD:: " CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROM " MATCH THREAD

Good covering from Ciaran Brown sees another WBA attack thwarted before they run amok a little and bring outva smart save from Dillon Phillips

The resulting corner is cleared, sent back in and out for another corner, which is cleared for a WBA throw

Save!

Oh Dillon Phillips was needed there. Callum Robinson cutting in off the left and whipping a shot at the far post, but the keeper tips it around the corner with his fingertips.
