Man of the match tonight, yet he wouldn't get in our team according to Mick. Dear oh dear Mick what the f**k are you smoking?

Apparently, a superb performance from 'Boro with former Bluebird Sol Bamba taking the MotM plaudits...

Sort of adds salt to the gaping wound...

Clearly fight in the old dog yet and congratulations from me, a Sol Bamba fan...! :notworthy:

If he was still here it would've been 6 CBs on the pitch!

Maybe we would have only conceded 3 then.

So what? We want an even older and slower centre back than the seven who played for us last night. Maybe we should find out what Don Murray and Darren Purse are doing these days.

As far as MM was concerned he had to go because he represented a real threat to his position. Sol is not just a gentleman but a leader on and off the pitch who was loved by our fans and IF he were still here today MM would be well on the way back up the M4.

Massive f**k up by our club to treat him with such little respect.

Absolutely spot on with this post.

Personally, I’m delighted for Sol and he deserves everything he gets at the moment.
Top man, top player.

Really happy for Sol and hope he continues to do well....BUT I still think we were right not to offer him a playing contract.
He played well last night but has been slated by Boro fans in previous games, he is sadly too old and was coming back from a horrible illness so it would have been a huge risk and if it had gone wrong then the fans would soon have said it was a mistake. The money saved on wages SHOULD have been used to strengthen other positions, it wasn't but that's another story.
The only regret was the way that Sol left, he deserved more respect but that sadly sums up this inept board more than the decision to not offer him an extension. He knows the fans loved him and maybe one day he will come back in some capacity but there's no good moping about a 36yr old former player who has had one good game when this squad has far more pressing issues at the moment.

Careful what you ask for, apparently Darren Purse was in the stadium last night co-commentating on city TV, possibly had a word with Mick later on to offer his service.
