For those wearing the rose tinted spectacles - no need to panic. Still only five points away from the play off places!

So Derby, who are a complete basket case of a club, haven’t been able to sign players all summer and have a threadbare squad have the same number of points as us if you remove the points deduction.

As much as people say that our squad has been under invested in this season (and I’m not denying that) look at a Derby and some of the clubs above us operating on lower budgets.

It’s early in the season, but make no mistake as much as the good start under him last season was down to him…our current position sits squarely at his feet and his mundane, predictable and frankly nonsensical approach to this season.

The table is incredibly bunched and one win could easily leap us up in to mid table. The point about Derby is good one. They can stay up and even with a threadbare squad are out performing us currently. McCarthy is not getting the best out of what we have. It is still early days but a season of struggle is clear. Reading on Saturday is already must win game.

MM needs to go back to basics which means, pressing from the front ,with as mobile a side as possible .

Smithies
NG
Mcguiness
Nelson
Bagan
Pack
Ralls
Sang
Giles
Harris
Moore.

But he would never pick that side .
He will probably play 7 centre halfs :(

Derby will run out of steam because of the conditions they are having to operate in. Well I hope they will else life will be unbearable up here.

Not to mention Reading who I believe have been under a transfer embargo for months and have a dreadful injury crisis There are loads of teams in this division who are in a worse fianancial situation than us who are doing better. It is a measure of how dreadfully MM is doing.
