Postby worcester_ccfc » Mon Oct 11, 2021 5:00 pm

FULL TIME: ESTONIA 0-1 WALES

Goal: Kieffer Moore, 12th minute

Yellow cards: Pikk, Kussk, Kait, Thomas, Wilson, Allen, Moore

Wales face Estonia tonight in Tallinn. It is an absolute must win game if we want to finish in the top two, following Friday's 2-2 draw in Prague against Czech Republic.

The match gets underway at 7.45pm and is live on Sky Sports.

We are already guaranteed a place in the play-offs. But our first game in the play-offs will be away if we fail to finish in the top two of this group. If we finish in the top two, then we will have a home game in our first play-off match.

Czech Republic go to Belarus in the group's other game, which kicks off at the same time. That game is played in Kazan, Russia due to sanctions against the Belarus government.

Wales go into this game level on points with Czech Republic, although the Czechs have one goal better goal difference. We have played one less game than Czech Republic.

Wales will finish in the top two if we win our three final games.

This is Wales' final game of this international window, with games at home to Belgium to conclude the group in November.

No excuses need to put 4 on them!
Pointless being cagey otherwise end up needing to beat Belgium... yes already in playoffs but want home draw.... but really shouldn't be in this position if compare to what Belgium did to these teams?

What minute will Moore get his customary yellow card from a ref not used to a tall physical forward?

Kieffer Moore gave Wales the lead early on, and we've been dominating.

Goal was a bit fortunate as the ball just hit him after the goalkeeper saved from Ramsey, but we deserve it.

Nearly 1-1.

A bad mistake by Wilson by misplacing a pass in our own penalty area and leaving Ward stranded.

Wilson was saved by Joe Rodon clearing the ball off the line.

Estonia have been making loads of late challenges and finally there's just been a booking for one of their players.

Three or four of them could have been booked by now. They seem to be targeting Ramsey and Wilson.

I disagree Allan, we're in control of the game.

Apart from Wilson's mistake, Estonia haven't threatened at all.

Only important thing tonight is to win, don't forget we failed to beat these at home.

No point going gung-ho in the first half when we're already winning, more likely to concede an equaliser then.

I can see us getting a second in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Can't be thinking of goal difference. Priority is winning this game and the two home games in November. Then it's job done and the first play-off game is at home, even if we win every game 1-0.

Kuusk booked for catching Kieffer Moore with his arm off the ball.

Could easily have been a penalty and a red card.

Ned only control is possession we look shaky as hell at back ...80mins still 1-0 not looked like scoring either...... stats show not a lot between us in those despite 65% possession when last checked ? As for goal difference we are 2 behind chechs they got Estonia we got Belarus before we take on Belgium! 80mins gone only one side going to score and it's not Wales. :o

Far too casual giving away possession all the time, though I thought Thomas had a good game he needs experienced players to tell him not to try little drag backs in dangerous positions, championship football is different to international football. Page seemed to be sat down instead of being up barking orders to try and get a foothold in the game again. We were lucky to get away with that tonight.

Do you know it's been like watching city this qualifying campaign Just no penetration at one point 65% possession 6 shots on target they had 3 ....that possession was inside own half mostly? We are very pedestrian in attack and the stats show this only scored more than 2 goals once against Belarus only reason chechs 2 goals better off is because got stuffed by Belgium otherwise be 4 or 5 better off! We need bale Ramsey both fit in playoffs or got zero chance... Moore misses next game ..

That second half was a load of sh#te. No composure on the ball whatsoever (well only Ramsay). Where was our defence? ... and midfield? fkn shambles.
We were playing Estonia ffs. Rodon & Mepham were in each other's way. Nowhere near as good as Ashley Williams (was) at his peak
Refereeing was also sh#te. Let the Estonians get away with horrible niggles and we eventually lowered ourselves to their sh#tty standards.
Horrible game to watch. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
We'll need a few key players back for Belarus to get a decent win. Massive improvement needed.
Sorry but Page should have walked at the end of the Euros. Tactically useless.

Wonder why he's using 2 keepers on the bench as well? Hes a typical manager who was a defender and thinks like one tactics wise.. no wonder we are only rated 19% odds for getting to Qatar
