There is a saying in football that you can't score if you don't have the ball - and when you have 25-30% of the possession, as we did under MM, that leaves us with 30 minutes to score and our opponents 60 minutes to score.

It is therefore nice to see us having 56% possession and maximizing the opportunities available to us.

Low possession stats are ok if you've got something going forward and you do something
with possession several games team with 75% possession have lost....warnock typical case we had one of lowest possession stats but one of highest for attacking 3rd of pitch and shots..... under mick we had neither to help out defence.... now we look as if given time we will have both again but with better football being played

Spot on.

Some teams have very high possession figures where they spend a lot of time in their own halves. Others will have much lower figures but based on good defence and skill/speed when they attack. With Mick we had become a mess in general, with Neil Warnock we were good going forward, and now I think we're "in-between" as a result of having very limited creativity in the squad.

You will get teams that have a lower % of possession winning leagues but this is not the norm. Usually those teams with the greatest amount of possession during the season are the top teams in the division. Maybe Leicester are the only team to win the top league with less than 50% possession in the last 40 years or even longer

Hmmmmmmm, the Jack's had 63% possession v bournemouth, and still got whacked 4-0 !! So as has been said, it's not always a certainty you will win because you have the ball for longer.
