" Steven Gerrard move could affect Cardiff City? "

Wed Nov 10, 2021 1:23 pm

It has been believed that Michael Beale wanted to remain at Rangers and win the league for a second consecutive season there with Steven Gerrard.

However, it is now strongly believed that Gerrard is Villa's first choice for their new manager. Gerrard is said to be keen on the move too.

Could that possibly change Beale's mind? He has been linked with the job at Cardiff City ever since Mick McCarthy departed.

Interestingly, having been as long odds as 16/1 just a couple of days ago, Beale is now just 4/1 to take over at Cardiff City Stadium.

Steve Morison remains the 5/4 favourite.

If he is willing to cut ties with Gerrard then if Gerrard was to get the Villa job isn’t it possible enough that Beale could wave cheerio to Gerrard and stay at Rangers as manager as opposed to coming here then ?

Would also agree with that.

However, it does sound like that Gerrard is taking Beale with him to Villa.

Rangers fans seem resigned to Gerrard leaving for Villa and a lot want Beale to take over. Personally I’m gutted a manager leaving mid season is never good.
