Fantastic news and restores a little faith in 'justice'

The Baggies Ismael will be pretty aggrieved, as Steve Morison will feel vindicated in his forthright comments on the matter

Definitely! I seen the up close clip of the “fight” at the end and Flint did nothing wrong, so rightfully overturned and glad the FA finally see sense for once

Former Bristol City favourite cleared to play for Cardiff City in Severnside Derby

Aden Flint was sent off in injury time during Cardiff's 1-1 draw against West Brom

Cardiff City defender Aden Flint will be available to play in the Severnside Derby at Ashton Gate later this month after his red card against West Brom was ruled as "wrongful dismissal" by the FA and his three-match suspension overturned.

Flint was sent off by referee Thomas Bramall deep in injury time during the 1-1 draw after the Baggies appeared for a late penalty they weren't awarded with a melee then ensuing and the defender also followed to the tunnel by West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

That decision would have ruled him out for Cardiff's next three matches - Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City - but the 32-year-old will now be able to play, should he be selected, following a successful appeal.

That gives Flint the green light to play in the derby game in BS3 on January 22, which will be the first time he has played at Ashton Gate in front of his former fans in the colours of Cardiff.

Flint left City in the summer of 2018 for Middlesbrough, after 246 appearances in which he became a considerable fan favourite.

He did make a quick return with Boro on August 18, as the Robins were beaten 2-0 but after moving to Cardiff the following summer, the derbies in Bristol of 2019/20 and 2020/21 were played behind closed doors.

The veteran has continued to be a regular under Bluebirds head coach Steve Morison, who replaced Mick McCarthy initially on a temporary basis but now at least until the end of the season, as the central figure in his back three.
