Yes, the 'blame' doesn't just rest on those who actually voted for him. Disillusionment and lethargy surely play a part

We also have such a “rigged” electoral system tbag its almost impossible for anyone but labour to get in. Almost all parties are left leaning bar the conservatives. So all they woikd do is go in to coalition. We never get the chance to see what another approach can work like.
