My worry is the gap between the bottom 5 of the Championship

Postby Forever Blue » Thu Jan 27, 2022 7:42 am

My worry is the gap between the bottom 5 of the Championship and the rest of the Championship is getting bigger (pts)

Small Clubs like Preston, Blackpool, Luton , Coventry and Millwall are way ahead of us, that surely can’t be right

BUT CARDIFF PLAY BARNSLEY & PETERBOROUGH VERY SOON AND FOR ME THEY ARE MUST WIN GAMES FOR THE BLUEBIRDS.

Imagine if Derby and Reading had not had points deducted.

UPDATED:

‘’Derby County 21 points deducted / Fighting every week

‘Reading 6 points deducted and fighting for every point.

Don't we have a rearranged home game vs Derby to come too? If they lose a few key players in the next few days it may knock the remaining stuffing they have left out of them hopefully. Those 3 games are quite simply must wins though.

Think it is any three from the bottom five For me Barnsley should be one of them but if Derby can keep the squad together i would not put them out of the equation of staying up

That (the gap) is a worry, as it only takes a half decent run from Reading (very capable) or Peterbrough (possibly) to put us in big trouble :(

We 100% should not be in this position but (sadly) we is where we is and we have to adapt or fall

There are indeed some smaller clubs above us (and one very small rural club ;) ) and assuming we survive, something needs to change for next season

Owner or culture? I think that will depend on the legal battles in the coming weeks/months

I hope we can win on Sunday however I can’t see it happening, it’s become dangerous now to rely on other teams to mess up.

I bet Steve Morison then blames to many fixtures all at once.

This is why we need a string squad for the run in.

Agree its been a very poor season but the reason Derby and Reading have been deducted points is they've spent money they didn't have to build quality squads like a few other clubs it would seem and they will face imul
Simlar deduction next season . That's not an excuse for us being where we are.

We just need to stay up, even its by the skin of our teeth.

Relegation would be a disaster with 80% of EFL money being distributed to the Championship clubs, 12% to League 1 and 8% to league 2.

If, and I think it's a big IF, we manage to stay up we need a big summer and not just on the playing side but a shake up ay board level.... If Tan does or doesn't sell the club, Choo and Dalman in my opinion need to go. We need some passionate, intelligent football people running the club who have a strategy to make our club sustainable and successful... and move away from this annual 'punt' on promotion and the utter wastage of funds on players.

If it were not for points deductions we would be cut adrift by 5 points
