Agreed. Some games possession works sometimes it doesn't. You have to be able to mix and match.

Look at Liverpool on Sunday. They had around 87% possession for over an hour and it was still 0-0. They bring on a big centre forward, go direct and score 2 goals to win pretty comfortably !!

However, it is important to be able to retain possession better if you need to, particularly if you are in front in a game. As, whilst there are many great tactics to use, I've yet to see a team able to score without the ball
