Wayne Rooney is hoping for a positive end to Derby County’s eventful season next weekend, whilst Steve Morison says he wants his team to play their best game of the season for the 2,000 Bluebirds who are travelling.


Rams have already been relegated to League One, while the Bluebirds have confirmed their Championship status for another season after a disastrous start.

Nevertheless, Derby boss Rooney believes it's important for his side to end the campaign on a high. "We will prepare right for next week, which is the last game of the season,” he told RamsTV. “I hope as many fans as possible come down and support the players in that last game.

“Hopefully we can get the three points to finish the season off and everyone will enjoy a well-earned rest. It was important to reward the fans with a win at Blackpool, the support all season has been magnificent. We’re proud of them for supporting us all over the country this year and at home, so want to end the season with a positive result.”

I would love to give good news.

It's been an awful season and I can't wait for it to be over. But the repeated and constant criticism of the club about anything and everything is boring. Especially as it usually coincides with results. Results are good and morison is the man. Results are bad and hes a cheap yes man. It puts me off coming on here so id imagine it's the same for others.

I'm actually looking forward to next season. We have a manager who wants to play football and not hoofball. Literally all the high earners who have crippled us financially will be off the books. There's an emphasis on youth and we appear to moving towards trying to become a more sustainable club. These are all things we should have been doing years ago.
