Charlie Austin for Free?

I see QPR have let Charlie Austin go on a free. Quite a few QPR fans not happy with the decision (rumours he wasn’t played to avoid triggering an extension).

Getting on a bit now but not a bad player to have on the bench if you need a goal.

I’m guessing wages would be too high though.

Not for me. 13 goals in 55 league games for QPR isn’t bad, but he isn’t worth what he’ll be asking for. At his age he’ll be looking for one last pay day.

Agreed. And remember the Worzels picked up Tammy Abraham on loan a few years ago so they are out there.

No, he's past it. We've had way too many of these kind of signings over the years and I'm struggling to think of one that actually worked.

Don’t think he’d move from the London area. I notice him Co hosting with Goldstein on Talksport a fair bit. I can see him doing that full time when he finishes playing.
