Sam Bowen was another Cardiff City Accademy player and future star:

Sam Bowen aged 21 is going to League 2 Newport County deal done next few days announcement soon. City have the rights due to his age if County sell him and are also having first rights on buying back if he eventually improves to become a Championship player.

Sam Bowen described by Media Reporter Glen William as a starlet who is 'different class' and a future star.

All the best Sam and good luck at Newport.

Sam Bowen , Kieron Evans , Marlon Pack & Alex Smithies are just 4 of the players from up to 15 players that are leaving Cardiff City this June.

Another Cardiff City prospect:

Kieron Evans 21 yrs old who is a Cardiff Accademy graduate is currently on trial at Non League Torquay United looking to sign on a permanent deal.

Will probably be the Evans level. Seems like a great lad but he has hardly impressed at Linfield with only 5 appearances whilst on loan. Wish him all the best and I hope he proves me totally wrong.

Sad about Sam Bowen, as he is clearly a talent but it seems he needs to sort a few things out to make the most of it; attitude apparently being one of them...

I wish him (and all departing players) well though and hope he goes on to be as good or better than his old man... :ayatollah:

I have heard his attitude was an issue I was told that he clearly is not working hard enough and seems to lack the desire to work harder No doubt talented but it takes more than talent

I hope Morison knows what he is doing

I hope Morison knows what he is doing - and that these moves have been agreed by the board etc. If not - Im not sure Im too happy - Bowen was supposed to be the next big thing out of the U23s - and from what I saw of him - he looked like he could handle championship football.

I know people have mentioned attitude - Tomlin had attitude, McCormack had an attitude and Chopra had issues - it didnt stop them from match winning performances.

If it’s an attitude problem it’s a bit strange he’s off to Newport. For his own sake I’d have sent him to the other side of the country to grow up

Regardless of attitude. Look at the mentality of Doyle and particularly drameh. They owned their spots in the team when they entered the club. Ok they had the odd off moment. But all players do. It should be a wake up call to our younger players that if you want to get ahead that’s what you have to do. Work hard. Train hard. Demand that starting spot. Our players may lack the ability of those 2. But they should match the drive and determination.

Shame Evans seems to have faded. I can only remember seeing him start once- QPR i think- and I thought he looked a real creative talent. My son thought so as well. I was looking forward to seeing him again but I don't think he had another game.

Bowen and King both look big and heavy to me, not fat just big and more sitters than mobile, especially when I compare them to a 20-year-old Joe Ralls who looked like a racing snake.

Rowberry has been chasing Sam Bowen since it become clear he was not part of Morisons plans.

A couple of other League 1 clubs enquired but he knows Rowberry well and it’s a move that suits player and manager.

He is a Newport boy being raised in Langston so Newport will suit him as his family still live there

That's fair enough; and hopefully Sam Bowen can get the game time at County he needs to enhance his obvious talent

If I recall, his dad, Jason, came here via County (and the horrid club from the M4 West)?

He was a great acquisition for us and one of the few who managed to bridge the great M4 divide not too long after 'Leggy' proved it could be done by the right players; a great story of which you told me! :laughing6: :ayatollah:

He came from Reading to us and after us went County
