Cardiff City have had to end their interest in West Ham defender Aji Alese.
The Bluebirds had been keen on the 21-year-old, but it is understood he would only have been available for sale.
Cardiff do not want to shell out any transfer fees and instead wanted him on loan, which, it is understood, they were told is not a possibility.
Cardiff will, of course, need to bolster their centre-back options this summer, with Aden Flint, Ciaron Brown and Sean Morrison all out of contract, however we are told the latter has been offered some sort of package to tie him over while he recovers from his ACL injury.
