[Newcastle United intensify transfer talks with Real Madrid star’s agent]

Newcastle United have reportedly intensified negotiations over a potential transfer move for Real Madrid misfit Gareth Bale.

The Wales international will be a free agent this summer after a long and successful career at the Bernabeu, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up next.

According to Todo Fichajes, Bale is keen on a return to the Premier League, and Newcastle look to be establishing themselves as a serious option for the former Tottenham man.

Bale looks like he still has something to offer at the highest level, even if he’s fallen out of favour with Real in recent times.

Still, just last season Bale showed plenty of quality in a loan spell back at Spurs, and he could be ideal to help kick-start this new era at St James’ Park.

Gareth Bale to Newcastle?

According to Todo Fichajes, Newcastle are stepping up their efforts to sign the 32-year-old by intensifying negotiations with his agent, and they seem to be the most attractive option for him.

The report adds, however, that MLS side Inter Miami may also be in for Bale, so this won’t necessarily be straightforward for Newcastle to get done.

Roger so many mixed reports about GB? If the one on here is correct no way will any club accept a player dictating terms of playing time as reported.... will he be a 1st team player or just a star name to boost ncastle standing in football with him playing bit part for them ? Decent pay cheque but that cannot be his motivation surely plus got nothing to prove to anyone not even himself

Let's be honest if he can get a fair amount of game time with Newcastle and another decent paycheck then it makes much more sense than coming here.

Being unselfish it would be much better for Wales should we qualify.

The thing is if he signed for us, he'd be able to dictate his playing time. As it's been said, it would all be on his terms.

He wouldn't be able to do that at a club like Newcastle.

He'd get much more money there obviously, but I don't think that's a factor in his thinking.

His agent has come out and said he's not motivated by money. There's zero reason for him to go to Newcastle unless it was money.
