Cardiff City have completed their fifth signing of the summer with the capture of Callum O'Dowda on a three-year deal.

The winger joins on a free transfer after being released by Bristol City following six years with the Ashton Gate club. The 27-year-old was one of Steve Morison’s main targets.


Bristol City had the option of signing Callum O’Dowda on another year, but due to O’Dowda knee injury last season which restricted his appearances for the Robins, the West Country Club chose to release O’Dowda.

Happy with this. Suffered a bit with injuries last season but when fit will contribute more than Murphy ever did.

Much better than what we got so should be a good player for us .

On his day a very good , consistent player.

My only worry is injury prone and we have given him a 3 yr contract?

In comparison,Murphy has 14 goals and 10 assists in 99 games!

Not sure myself, but Morison has proved a very good judge or player and character based on the last window, so welcome

Murphy cost 11 million. With no expectation he’ll do just fine. Remember if any one of these free signings has a good first half of the campaign they could be sold for actual £! It’s a profitable scheme to take frees with age on their side.

Quality player mind Annis. I know you dislike him but when he played he made things happen. He was the only one that made things happen. Shame about his attitude as he could easily be playing in the prem if he had his head switched on and kept fit.

Since when do we take notice what they are saying.

27 is a good age and maybe he stagnated at the wurzels and needed change, hopefully this turns out to be a good signing, Patterson wasn't exactly pulling up trees before joining the scum and turned out OK for them

Happy with this, My mate from Bristol really rates him. Reckons we've got a good player if we can keep him fit
