One of the many Cardiff players Glen Williams

Made out was another great player and that Rangers / Celtic plus Championship clubs all wanted

Last seasons build up making out these players were unbelievable and going places , yet everyone could see they were not and were all thrown in to the Cardiff City first team squad on the Committee’s orders , I was slated at the time for being brutally honest , these players were not good enough and nearly cost us Championship status , so now when I read Media Wales , I laugh it off , but feel for the fans who believe the false hype.

Even Steve Morison said they were not good enough.

It’s nothing personal against the players, but they were not good enough for the Championship and it was proven and nearly became costly.

CIARON BROWN:

Age 24

4.5 years with Cardiff City

17 appearances

Was very strange the apparent hype around him. He'll end up at Newport probably.

Because it’s coming from the Committee and they were hoping to be able to sell a couple. We never had one bid for any of the 12 players thrown in.

It’s wrong as it built the fans expectations up.

I totally understand praising potential, I get that.
But this guy didn't really show anything outstanding. Equally I could be wrong but didn't we sign him in his 20s?

Warnock made an offer to buy Brown off us, when he was at Boro, Mick came out and said the offer wasn't good enough or serious enough, can't remember his words exactly.

Facts:

Warnock made a virtually zero offer , even he said it was cheeky and so low City said no.

The facts are there all those years and appearances, yet he was made to be another great player coming through .

I could see from the first time I saw him he wasn't good enough. Not mobile, no speed, looked uncomfortable on the ball and moving in general.

Apparently we are not allowed to say how we truly see it or saw it.

In fairness was he ever a young player for us? The age he come in needed to be in and around the squad.

Not allowed an opinion or view hahaha

The funny thing is I actually agree with you that they were rushed through and only ever saw 2/3 of them max with the potential of breaking through but needed to be done slowly. That’s been my opinion from the start. So not exactly sure where your hypocrisy claims come from. When people challenge your words you call them hypocrites and bullshitters? Grow up.

I agree with those saying Brown was never going to be good enough. No pace and just didn't look comfortable at this level.

However, didn't the club try and get rid of him up to Scotland but McCarthy was told by a Scottish mate of his that Brown was a top player and then insisted he came back from loan or am I thinking of another player ? McCarthy seemed to like anyone who can play centre back :o

I can't remember anyone really singing Brown's praises but then again I'd already made my own mind up after watching him play for the U23s so might have just ignored it.

When you watched Colwill, Davies, Zimba and Denham at U23 you just knew that they had real potential. Mind you, I thought Keenan Patten also looked like he could make it and he's gone elsewhere so what do I know
