"We've been exploited, controlled and punished by the English - and that's who you are playing this afternoon."

Had a tall order to follow but did it with aplomb. Fabulous feet, speed and thought - I am sad to hear of his passing at 73. Was true to his Felinfoel club, a loyal player and supporter.

Magnificent player and according to virtually everyone who knew him an absolute gentleman off the pitch

An exemplary Welsh icon. You always know when someone is special because his name and reputation transcended his sport to people in all walks of life, even those with little or no interest in rugby.RIP Phil.
