Cardiff City have signed out of contract Derby County goalkeeper Ryan Allsop on a two-year deal.

30 year-olds this week and he signed for the Rams on a free transfer from Wycombe Wanderers last August on a one-year contract.

Cardiff City FC are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Ryan Allsop on a free transfer.

He has agreed a two-year deal with the Bluebirds from July 1st, 2022.

Allsop has been playing professionally for over a decade now. Ryan made 30 Championship appearances for Derby County last season and his final game for the club came against City in early May.

Speaking at the home of the Bluebirds,

Ryan said: “I was told there was interest from Cardiff City. I wanted to explore and see the ground and facilities, and I was blown away by it all. I’m delighted to get it over the line.

“It’s a massive club, and I’m honoured to be able to call myself a Cardiff City player and represent the Club in the best way that I can. I can’t wait to get started."

Ryan is our eighth new player ahead of the 2022/23 season, joining Ebou Adams, Jak Alnwick, Ollie Tanner, Jamilu Collins, Callum O'Dowda, Vontae Daley-Campbell and Mahlon Romeo in committing their futures to Cardiff City Football Club.

Steve Morison spoke about his newest signing, adding: “It’s excellent that Ryan has joined the Club, and it’s one that we’ve worked on for a little bit.

“The situation at Derby County has been a tough one, but he’s been excellent and a massive part of how well they’d done on the pitch last season.

“He’s a great lad, and this is a great opportunity to come in, settle down and be a great goalkeeper for this football club."

Good signing .
The 8 signings so far, the wages they are on in total , is probably less than Smithies was on.
So positives all round :)

Very important signing, will stop us giving away so many soft goals and will give confidence to the centre halves and allow us to play out from the back with less fear and pressure, he is one of the key signings  :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Another good signing, did well for Derby last season despite their relegation and always looked a decent goalkeeper when they were on TV.

Welcome aboard :bluebird:

Does seem to suggest that Phillips will be on his way.

We have Allsop and Alnwick now as first team keepers, with Rohan Luthra in the U23s just signing a new contract and the another U23 goalkeeper George Ratcliffe has also been offered a new contract.

Derby fans seem really disappointed to see him leave.

We all knew it was to be a complete overhaul this summer.

That's 3 completely new goalkeepers (with Luthra expected to step up) and a change of goalkeeping coach as well with Dibble moved on.

Times are changing and SM was right in saying we should all be excited

He’s the best of the lot so far Allsop. Decent keeper at this level, and I’d hope he’d be the No.1.

You did; and nothing has changed...
